The Shetland Pony Society of Australia Inc. Some of our Show Rules Page 1 Our Show season is about to start. So we thought that we would remind members on a few rules of showing. (1) All exhibitors must be financial members of the Shetland Pony Society of Australia Inc (2) Proof of registration may be requested and must be shown on demand. (3) Every exhibitor or competitor shall be bound by and observe the decisions of the show committee. (4) The show committee reserves the right to disqualify any exhibit that, in its opinion, appears to be in poor condition at the time of showing. (5) An official measurer may be in attendance. (6) A Broodmare is a mare which has foaled, has a foal at foot or is to foal in the current breeding season, prior to the 31st of July. Foals under the age of three weeks and their dams cannot be shown. (7) A broodmare with a foal is ineligible for ridden or Harness classes. (8) Judge or Judges must not be approached on the day of the show or event. (9) Once a class has commenced no exhibit may leave the ring unless so instructed by the ring official. (10) There is to be no change of handler once a class has commenced without the permission of the Judge. Rules Page 2 (11) The Judge’s decision is final and any protests must be lodged officially according to the show regulations. (12) If the judge, steward or ringmaster considers an exhibit to be dangerous or acting in a manner that is disruptive they may request that the exhibit is removed from the rung after issuing one prior warning. If the Show committee considers any person in attendance at an event is acting in an inappropriate manner they reserve the right to instruct that person to leave the facility. (13) Colts 2 years and over must be shown with a bit in their mouth in the ring. (14) Shetland Ponies must not be shown clipped or dyed or both. (15) All Shetland Ponies must be registered with the Australian pony stud book society or the A.P.S.B as it’s known. As a purebred Shetland Pony. Please bring your pony’s papers foe verification. (16) No American Shetland Pony or Ponies can be shown at our society show. (17) To show in solid colour class ponies need to be Grey, Bay, Roan or Chestnut in colour to enter. (18) To show in Dilute class ponies need to Dun, Palomino, Cremello, Grulla or Taffy in colour to enter. (19) To show in Broken coloured class ponies need to be to enter Black & White, Skewbald, Brown & White, Bay & White, Palomino & White, Grey & White, Dun & White, Roan & White & Taffy and White.
