HELGA PIZIO APPOINTED TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF NEVADA BLIND CHILDREN’S FOUNDATION LAS VEGAS – Nevada Blind Children's Foundation (NBCF) has recently expanded its board of directors to include Helga F. Pizio, MD. Pizio will begin her term immediately. A top honor graduate of the University of Miami School of Medicine, Pizio completed her Ophthalmology residency at the Dean McGee Eye Institute in Oklahoma. Pizio is an active clinical professor at the University of Nevada School of Medicine and an adjunct professor for Southern California College of Optometry. She is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). "It’s an honor to welcome aboard a distinguished vision specialist like Helga," said board president Robert Anderson. "Helga’s business acumen and enthusiasm for the education of children who are blind will be great assets to the organization." Dr. Pizio currently directs the operations of New Eyes, a comprehensive ophthalmology practice she founded in 2008 with four office locations in Las Vegas, Henderson, Summerlin, and Boulder City.
