WOMEN IN FILM & TELEVISION – TORONTO IN PARTNERSHIP WITH SHAW
MEDIA LAUNCH A NEW PROGRAM TAILORED TO ADVANCE BURGEONING
MANAGERIAL CAREERS

TORONTO, June 25, 2015 – Women in Film & Television – Toronto (WIFT-T) and Shaw Media are
pleased to announce the new Shaw Media Management Accelerator intensive program, designed to
provide screen-based professionals who aspire to be strong and effective managers with the skills they
need to set themselves apart in today’s highly competitive and global industry.

emerging management professionals,” said Heather Webb, Executive Director, WIFT-T. “This program
epitomizes WIFT-T’s ongoing commitment to cultivate screen-based industry leaders of tomorrow by
providing high quality professional development programs and mentoring opportunities.”

The Shaw Media Management Accelerator program, jointly developed by WIFT-T with Ryerson
University's G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education, is formulated to accelerate participants’
careers by helping them become effective managers, decision makers and communicators—foundations
for becoming future leaders. The program will launch in October, 2015.
“The Chang School is pleased to partner with WIFT-T to extend our expertise to those who aspire to
stand out as strong and effective managers in the film and television industry,” said Dr. Marie
Bountrogianni, Dean, The Chang School, Ryerson University. "The Shaw Media Management
Accelerator (SMMA) embodies The Chang School's commitment to engaging with community partners to
develop and deliver relevant, industry-focused training programs to adult learners.”
The unique program covers key managerial principals including: business communications, project
management, essential financial concepts, marketing and strategic planning. Following completion of the
program, each participant will be placed in a customized mentoring group, led by an industry leader who
will provide additional learnings and guidance. Successful participants will receive a Recognition of
Completion award from The G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education at Ryerson University.
