Gantuya, Head of the Department of Religious Studies, School of Social Sciences, National University of Mongolia, Panel description The transformation of the human mind and consciousness has been a major issue in the contemporary era. An explanation of the nature of human consciousness from the perspective of Buddhist philosophical theory will contribute to this discussion. The goal of this panel is to discuss the Mahayana philosophical view of conceptual thinking and intuition which is based on Indian, Tibetan and Mongolian traditions. This panel will address how to understand and reinterpret these philosophical traditions into contemporary western and eastern philosophical perspectives. Buddhist philosophy will be examined in following aspects. Buddhist logic Theory of Abhidharma Teaching of Prajnaparamita (The perfection of Wisdom) Yogacara Tantric teaching The panelists will discuss Tibetan and Mongolian textual studies on the above subjects. Our main goal for organizing this panel is to identify and explain conceptual thinking and intuition in Buddhist epistemology based on Tibetan and Mongolian texts.
