PRACTISE TIME (unaffiliated) - Open to any rider, any age, on any suitable horse or pony.
Use this session to brush up on any obstacles you feel require more practise following your
round. Improve your skills on your weaker obstacles by focussing on them. You will be given a
set time in small groups (10mins approx each) in the arena and help will be at hand should you
require it, though this is not training.
In-hand (unaffiliated) - Open to any horse and rider, this class will include the 10 obstacles
used in the other classes but WILL NOT include the MA.
TREC GB Winter League RS tor Rider Safety Aid TREC GB Winter League
www.rstor.co.uk.
Riders will be allocated points according to their placing in each class e.g. 10 points for
1st, 9 points for 2nd etc at each level. The highest 4 scores by a rider will count. At the
end of the season there will be rosettes to the top 10 at each level.
Riders need to be TREC GB members before their SECOND competition for their
scores to count – i.e. Riders new to TREC can try an event first – if they like
it they can then join – their points from the first event will count. This is not
exclusive to new riders.
The NEWCOMERS, INTERMEDIATE and OPEN classes consist of
two phases:
1.
MA
2.
PTV OBSTACLES
This will take place along a corridor of max. 150 metres long and 3 metres wide and you
will be required to canter as slowly as possible one way and walk back as quickly as
possible, without breaking either pace. The SLOWER the canter and the FASTER the
walk, will gain more points.
A simple course of TEN Obstacles, simulated to represent those you might meet out hacking, to
test riding skills, and the training and handiness of your mount.
This may include some obstacles from the latest Rule book and some handy horse/pony type
tasks, i.e. Bending, Corridor, Low Branches, Footbridge, Rein-back, S-bend, Mounting (from
either side), Jump and some Led obstacles.
The obstacles will be numbered and are to be dealt with in numerical order within a set time
limit. They are all optional, and when the TIME LIMIT is up you must leave the PTV course.
Each obstacle receives a maximum of 10 points made up of 7 for Effectiveness and 3 for Style.
A Course Plan and Data Obstacle Sheets will be displayed
to highlight the aims and system of marking.
THE PLACINGS are decided with the rider gaining the highest combined Score from the Control
of Paces and the PTV, taking First Prize.
In the event of equality the highest score from the PTV will take precedence.
INDIVIDUAL SCORE SHEETS WILL BE GIVEN OUT AFTER EACH PRIZE GIVING OR BY LEAVING
A STAMPED ADDRESSED ENVELOPE with ORGANISER.
