2.

ACADEMIC PROGRAM

Polish language classes are taught between 8:30 and 13:30 and they include o two-week course of 50 hrs (3 ECTS) + 10 hrs of lectures (1 ECTS); total of 60 hrs (4 ECTS) o three-week course of 75 hrs (5 ECTS) + 15 hrs of lectures (1 ECTS); total of 90 hrs (6 ECTS)

One class hour lasts 45 minutes.

The number of hours in each of the courses includes the inaugural lecture.

The course levels range from A1 to C2 (beginner – proficiency). Applicants state their level in application form, and they complete placement test on the first day. All classes are taught in Polish. The maximum number of students per group is 12. All learners will receive a course certificate provided they have at least 50% attendance and fulfilled other requirements.

Lectures concern Polish culture, history, and contemporary Polish language; they can be conducted in Polish, English or Russian.

CULTURAL-TOURIST PROGRAM

Polish customs and traditions

 film viewing

 theatrical play (ticket prices are not included)

 galleries and museums (ticket prices are not included)

 sightseeing tours

 trips to Suprasl, Choroszcz, and Tykocin (one trip in 2-week program; two trips in 3-week program)

BOARDING AND ACCOMMODATION

 accommodation is in student boarding house; double rooms with bathrooms; fully equipped (bedding, towels, etc.); Wi-Fi

 single room reservations need to be made on application forms, or, alternatively on arrival, provided they are still available; single room accommodation in a unit for three is 75 PLN (2-week course) and 100 PLN (3week course)

 we do not provide accommodation in private apartments

HOW TO APPLY

Applicants must be at least 18 years old.

To apply, fax or e-mail the application form (do not forget to include your email address). You will receive an e-mail confirmation, which you should bring to Bialystok. Should you not receive our confirmation, please, contact the secretary’s office.

Send application form together with the pre-payment deposit slip (300 PLN); we accept only bank transfer payment.

We do not accept cash.

If the pre-payment is not sent before the course starts, your reservation will be cancelled.

Please, apply before May 31, 2015 .

NOTES

The minimum number of students per group is 6. Should this number be lower, the course will be cancelled, and your pre-payment reimbursed.

The minimum number of students in the cultural-tourist program is 12. Should this number be lower, the program will be cancelled or modified.

We do not provide insurance.

The course price will not be reimbursed if a student should resign before it is completed.

We do not award student grants. Suitable applications must be made in the country of residence or to the Ministry of Science and Higher Education in
