BOARD MEETING MINUTES
TUESDAY, JANUARY 21ST, 2014
CALL TO ORDER: The President of the Board, Su Hatfield, called the meeting to order at 7:00
p.m., at the Addison Township Public Library, 1400 Rochester Road, Leonard, MI, 48367.
BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Joel King-yes, James Baldiga-yes, Jennie Eller-no, Mary
Frost-yes, Sandra Craddock-no, Su Hatfield-yes. Library Director Jaema Berman and Assistant
Library Director Lyn Henderson were present, as was Friends of the Library President Kara
King.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
CALL TO AUDIENCE:
APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA: Motion to approve the agenda by M. Frost, 2nd by J.
Baldiga, carried by a voice vote.
APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: Motion to table approval of the minute as they were not
available by J. King, 2nd by M. Frost, carried by a voice vote.
FINANCIAL REPORT: J. Berman presented the financial report for 2013. Motion to table the
financial report to allow review by J. Baldiga by J. King, 2nd M. Frost, carried by a voice vote.
DIRECTOR’S REPORT: J. Berman presented the directors report. Motion to approve and file
the Director’s Report by J. Baldiga, 2nd by M. Frost, carried by a voice vote.
APPROVAL OF THE BILLS: J. Berman presented the February bills. Motion to approve the
bills by J. King, 2nd by M. Frost, approved by a roll call vote: J. King-yes, J. Baldiga-yes, M.
Frost-yes, S. Hatfield-yes.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Policy – none.
Building – none
Finance – none
Communications and Technology – none
COMMUNICATIONS:

None
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
 Building repairs – sidewalk, parking lot – the patch in the parking lot is a temporary
repair, and will have to be permanently done in the spring.
NEW BUSINESS:



A proposal to send J. King, J. Berman, and K. King to the millage workshop was made
by J. King, 2nd by M. Frost, approved by roll call vote: J. King-yes, J. Baldiga-yes, M.
Frost-yes, S. Hatfield-yes.
Long range plans for the library facility – By June 2021, the library needs to be in a new
location. There was discussion about the various options.
Landlord responsibility – roof damage. A decision was made to have an inspection made
once the snow had melted to determine the state of the roof.
