“Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, Lord, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all.” 1 Chronicles 29:11 (NIV) Youth Regional Quake Zone April 4-6, 2014 6-12th Grade Youth Marriott Denver South $150 by February 3rd, $165 by March 17th and $180 by April 1st *scholarships are available if needed Details about Quake Zone: Rooted in the Christian Scriptures and shaped by the Lutheran tradition, Youth Encounter partners with Christian communities of all denominations throughout 30 countries. Weekend youth events, called Quakes and Zones, make faith come alive for youth through caring conversations, workshops, and worship. Established in 1965 in St. Paul, MN, Youth Encounter is credited with playing a leading role in developing Christian contemporary music in the U.S. and inspiring young people to be life-long church leaders. The regional Quake Zone brings Middle School and High School Youth from all over the area together for a weekend of speakers, worship, church time, and fun. In addition to large group sessions there will be smaller workshops, games, a variety show, and other special events. We will meet at St Luke’s at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, April 4th and travel to Denver for the weekend. We will need drivers and chaperones for the weekend! We will be back in Colorado Springs about 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 5th. Cost: The cost of the weekend includes two nights in the hotel (4 people per room), all activities, transportation and meals. Featuring: He Said, She Said: Dani Tietjen has partnered with her friend and colleague Pastor Henry Graf to offer a unique conversational presentation. Both professional speakers, they take the stage armed with Bibles and coffee. Dani and Henry discuss everything from embarrassing moments to life altering moments with God. Realizing that having conversations with friends and mentors helps deepen faith, they decided to take that philosophy to the stage and engage students in the conversation. The Junker Georges: If I had to tell you about The Junker Georges, and apparently I do, this is what I’d say: They are an acoustic-based rock/folk duo/trio/quartet, depending on who actually shows up. Founding members Ryan and Todd have been playing music coast to coast since 2003. As primary songwriter and guitarist, Todd is a Level-12 Disney trivia master, coffee connoisseur, and was voted “Most Likely to be Killed by a Pirate.” Ryan (drums/muscle) would much rather be playing for the Flyers, Eagles, or Phillies. He is serving a record 23rd consecutive term as President of the West Roebling Aerosmith fan club. They love Jesus, eating, and hanging out. What else is there?
