Fill out the book choice form on the back of this page by Friday. Vocabulary Work: Write sentences for the five new vocabulary words in this packet and learn them for a quiz on Friday. Grammar Practice: Subject and Predicate. Every sentence has two basic parts: the subject and the predicate. The subject tells whom or what the sentence is about (and always includes a key noun or pronoun, the “simple subject”). The predicate tells something about the subject (and always includes a verb). The key word in the subject of the sentence is called the “simple subject.” The key word in the predicate is the verb of the sentence.
