Veterans’ Program Training Registration Form
Summary: The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO), in collaboration with the National
Veterans’ Training Institute (NVTI) and Department of Labor Veterans Employment and Training Service
(DOL VETS) will conduct four days of training for Regional Workforce Board (RWB) executives, senior
leadership and staff who manages the Disabled Veteran Outreach Program (DVOP) and Local Veterans
Employment Representatives (LVERs). The sessions described below offer a great opportunity for
managers to learn more about outreach with employers and the opportunity for executive management
to confer directly with the Florida DOL VETS Director (DVET) regarding veterans’ programs.
Directions: Each RWB can send two managers per event based on the schedule below. Fill out the
registration form and email it to Nikki.Brown@deo.myflorida.com. If the RWB is requesting to send
more than two staff members, please indicate the number of additional staff the RWB would like to
send. Please send only one form per RWB.

Explanation: The Managing Employer Outreach for Veterans course will be provided by NVTI and
explains the role of the LVER and the skills needed to enhance employer outreach for the American Job
Center in addition to the veteran customer. Emphasis is placed on supporting and empowering LVERs
by practicing effective communication and matching the skill development needs by utilizing the
appropriate leadership style.

LERS (ETA 9002/VETS 200), reporting, performance and measures, as well as funding and financial
requirements pertaining to regional responsibilities for the Jobs for Veterans State Grant (JVSG).
