I joined the Army back in march 1968 and retired in July 1997. It was great and I would go back if I could. I served all over this country and a few places over seas. When your in Military it truly is like a band of brothers, you make friends and I mean good friends from all over . There is hard times, like finding out one of your good friends is gone. I was watching the show "Blackhawk Down" they gave the names of people that where killed and there was the name of a good and dear Buddy. We served because we felt a great love for country and in my case all my brothers served in the Military. So like I said it was great and I would do it again. I retired after 30 years of service as an E-7 Sergeant First Class, I was trained as a Combat Solider in Artillery that is why I say what a lot. Since Veterans day is in November I thought it might be nice if some of the Veterans wrote a small article for it. If for whatever reason you didn't want to write an article, if you had any information that you wanted like to pass along that could be used to in an article that would be great. Even just a short bio on when you joined the military (year), why you joined the military, what was your family's reaction to you joining, what was the mood of the country when you joined, what was your rank, what branch you served, what you did in the military, where you were stationed, how long you were in, did you get deployed (and where) and did you regret joining the military is good for starters. If you remember any interesting stories during your military career that is perfect also. If you could send me the information by Sept. 17 that would be great.
