Major weakness of the 2013 workplan is that it was not fully incorporated into committee work. Strength of the workplan was that it was thorough and complete with deadlines and responsibilities to tasked items. b. Training is currently full and set to take place on March 18 from 9am-11:30am at The Sierra Health Foundation Monday March 24th 2013, SSF, 3pm Minutes Prepared by: Andrew Geurkink SSF VISTA 3/3/2014 *List of committee items for the 2014 workplan: 1) Shelter Committee i) Expansion of Winter Shelter to include a youth focus specifically 18-24 (TAY) ii) Analyze the current Hotel Voucher Program iii) Survey of shelters (a) Standards in Sac County (b) Survey of the standard grievance policy (c) Capacity of shelters in Sac County (not just the City of Sacramento) (d) Perform a gaps analysis Inventory (e) Length of guest stay and where they exit. 1. Include data from HMIS and none HMIS uses (i.e Union Gospel, Family Promise, WIND.) (f) County wide assessment of shelters (not just those in Sac City) with an emphasis on more local shelters within the County iv) Assess the Safe Ground model and possible expansion as alternative to shelters (not a replacement for shelters, but to help with capacity overflow) v) Increase and discuss the collaboration with E.S.G and SHRA 2) Housing Committee i) Housing Inventory Count (a) Update and distribute info graphic and other educational materials that are easy to read for general public as well as reports that can be sent to policy makers. ii) 100k Homes (a) Housing Collaborative to report as part of the CoC Housing Subcommittee (b) Have Housing Collaborative as a standing agenda item iii) Update or replace the old 10 year to reflect the current needs of the County iv) Establish the Housing Committee’s role in the annual HUD Application (1) The housing committee will work jointly with the HUD committee on the annual HUD application v) Housing committee wants to continue work to ensure housing for people who have few other options. (1) SRO’s update and follow through with SHRA annual report (2) Ensure continued protection of SRO’s as the King’s Arena continues its development downtown. (Goal is to maintain current ordinance)
