NEWS RELEASE: IMMEDATE MARION COUNTY 4-H LIVESTOCK JUDING TEAM TAKES TOP HONORS AT NATIONAL CONTEST The Marion County 4-H Livestock Judging Team traveled to Kansas City to compete in the American Royal Livestock Judging Contest on October 31, 2013. Team members have been preparing for this event since winning the State 4-H Livestock Judging event this past June. After an eventful morning getting to the contest, the team finished first overall, first in swine, first in cattle, first in reasons, and second in sheep. Team member, Rhiannon Branch of Iuka, place fifth in swine. Andrew Livingston of Taylorville placed thirteenth in cattle, thirteenth in swine, thirteenth in reasons and sixteenth overall. Dylan Sigrist of Farina placed second in reasons, fifth in cattle and fifth overall. Adrian Austin of Mt. Vernon placed third in swine, second in cattle, first in sheep, first in reasons, and first overall. The team is coached by Steve Austin of Mt. Vernon.
