slideshow on the advantages and
disadvantages of ONE alternative fuel
Your slide show should be at least 7 slides. You should have
a title slide and a slide that documents your sources. You
should include pictures and clear concise text IN YOUR
OWN WORDS. The alternative fuel may be a substitute for
gas, oil, electricity, etc. see me for more info!
Your collage / diagram should be one full page. I should be
able to tell what type of chemical is being magnified through
the food web.
You should have at least 10 statements on your Venn diagram.
Illustrate, in pictures, how biomagnification
can impact an ecosystem’s food web.
Include a definition of biomagnification

methods.

You must choose a food that is not currently offered by the
company as “organic”. You must include information on where
ingredients should come from, if the packaging needs to be
changed, if some ingredients need to be substituted with
natural ingredients… Your guide should be typed, 1 page
miniumum
Your brochure should be a tri-fold brochure highlighting the
eco-friendly destination. You may choose eco-friendly things
to do, places to stay, alternative energies used, organic food
offered, etc.
Each ad should be one full page in size. They should be clear
and to-the-point, but informative. I recommend you do a bit
of research on why beef, pork, and poultry farms use
hormones and antibiotics before you create your ads.
Be sure to describe at least 3 organic farming methods (may
be the type of fertilizer used, pesticide, feed… etc) Explain
how using these methods gets the job done AND are better
than the alternatives for the animals and for the
environment

and write a paragraph about how you could
reduce it. (you may need your parents help)

perspective of an organism it shared its
habitat with.
Create a guide for your classmates
explaining the differences between farmed
and wild-caught fish. Highlight several
which are the safest and most
environmentally friendly to eat. Also,
highlight which are the worst to eat
because they are contaminated or because
of their over-fishing
Write a speech for a political candidate
explaining EITHER why we should take
drastic steps (and tell what those steps
are) to stop global warming OR why we
don’t need to worry about it, it’s “no big
deal”. Use real data to support either view.

if you choose

You should have 16 definitions. Turn in a blank copy AND a
completed answer key. See me for a guide on how to create

You should print out your carbon footprint summary to turn
in, along with suggestions for reducing it. Not all the
suggestions might be do-able for you and your family. Type a
1 page explanation of how you and your family realistically
could lower your carbon footprint.
Write a couple sentences about each song that explains why
you chose it. **You may actually make the CD if you want, or
just write out a playlist with the songs you chose along with
the artist that performs them. You must have at least 5

design and its features. Be sure to explain why they are
better for the environment that traditional methods!

Your diary entry should be typed. Be sure to include what
has happened to the food chain, the habitat, the clothing or
food industry (if applicable), and the overall environment as a
result of this organisms extinction.
Your guide should be easy to read and use. No more than a
single, one-sided page. Be sure to include common
supermarket fish in either the good or bad category. Be
clear: maybe farm-raised catfish are ok, but wild-caught are
not. Maybe Alaskan salmon is ok, but Sockeye is not… etc…
You should have at least 10 varieties of fish. You also need
to explain what the difference is between “Farm-raised” and
“wild-caught”
The speech should be 3-4 minutes in length and either be
typed and submitted, videotaped and submitted to me on
DVD, OR given in front of the class. Be sure to include a
works cited page of where you got the data you used! You
should have at least 3 main points supporting your point of
view.
