the interaction and exchange of ideas and technology to those involved with the hydrocarbon
processing industry. We are made up of members that process, produce, gather, transport and
market Natural Gas and Natural Gas Liquids.
Our goal and vision is to provide added value to the Canadian gas processing and gas liquids
industries from source to market by being a forum for:





expanding technical knowledge
sharing best practices
discussing, debating and providing input into legislative and regulatory issues
industry networking
being the premier technical association representing gas processing in Canada
WHAT MEMBERSHIP OFFERS YOU:
Access to the Leading Edge of Industry Research – connected to GPA US
The GPA cooperative research program has received worldwide recognition because of its
successes and benefits to the global midstream industry. Over the past 40 years, a vast amount of
data has been collected from GPA-led research efforts.
Advocacy and Industry Participation
GPAC represents the interests of gas processors on issues of importance that impact the industry as
a whole. This effort is carried out by the Legislative and Regulatory affairs Committee (LARAC).
LARAC exists to:




identify and review issues relevant to the gas gathering and processing industry
provide a forum for developing common positions relative to these issues
effectively represent the industry in providing feedback to regulatory bodies, producer
associations, legislators and stakeholder organizations
and provide GPAC with a vehicle for addressing and escalating industry issues.
Recent issues that LARAC has participated in include the development of the updated Jumping
Pound formula for determining processing fees (JP-05), the EUB’s Large Facility Liability
Management Program and the oil and gas industry’s Fuel Gas Efficiency Committee. In addition to
these initiatives, GPAC provides a representative to the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Technical
Council of the Safety Codes Council of Alberta.
Recognition
The GPAC Awards Program meets an obligation to support the development of the gas producing
and processing industry. These awards are tangible, public evidence of appreciation by the industry,
the association and industry colleagues to those individuals who have contributed significantly to the
advancement and development of the light hydrocarbons industry.

GPAC Safety Awards recognize companies with outstanding safety records in the industry.
The GPAC Safety Awards Program is an important part of an industry-wide recognition for safe work
at gas handling facilities across Canada. Many companies throughout the gas processing industry
choose to recognize the exceptional safety records of their staff alongside industry peers through the
GPAC Awards. By participating, companies contribute to lifting safety awareness to the ultimate
elimination of lost time and deaths due to preventable accidents. Several facilities and operating
areas have been participating in the program since its inception over 30 years ago. GPAC
acknowledges member companies in celebrating safety milestones through the public presentation
of safety awards at the annual GPAC Operations & Maintenance Conference held in Calgary,
Alberta.
