DEPARTMENT OF PRIMARY INDUSTRY & FISHERIES www.chemicalservices.nt.gov.au Biosecurity & Product Integrity Chemical Services CS Robinson Building Berrimah Farm GPO Box 3000 DARWIN NT 0801 Tel: 8999 2344 Fax: 8999 2111 Email: chemicals@nt.gov.au APPLICATION FOR 1080 PEST ANIMAL MANAGEMENT AUTHORISATION – OTHER PEST ANIMALS (1080 PAMA – Other Pest Animals) The application form is to be completed by landowners, occupiers and property managers who wish to undertake pig, fox, rabbit or other pest animal control using 1080 baits on land under their management. If you want to use 1080 baits to control Wild Dogs on Pastoral Properties you MUST complete a different application form entitled: Application Form - 1080 Pest Animal Management Authorisation Including the Permit to Take Protected Wildlife (1080 PAMA and Permit) (For Wild Dog Control on Pastoral Properties/Grazing Leases) this form is available from Chemical Services and can be downloaded from our website (address below). If you own, occupy and/or manage more than one property, each of the properties where you may wish to use baits are to be listed on the application below. In addition, all NT Portion numbers for the property(ies) must also be listed on the attached form before the authorisation can be issued to you. All parts of the form and map must be completed before an application will be processed. Special additional conditions will apply to properties of less than 10 ha for pigs. ‘Schedule A’ of the 1080 PAMA certificate is your purchase approval that must be presented to your supplier. The quantity and type of baits you can purchase will be specified in Schedule A. The landowner, occupier or property manager must provide for secure storage of baits. At all stages of the process the person in possession of the baits is responsible for their secure storage and use. A ‘1080 PAMA’ DOES NOT authorise the holder to lay 1080 baits. The only people who are allowed to handle and lay baits are those who hold a current “1080 User Authorisation”. This is a separate authorisation for those who have undertaken the relevant 1080 training AND then applied to this Department for this specific authorisation. Once you have been issued a ‘1080 PAMA‘ it is valid until the expiry date printed on the certificate. A renewal notice will be sent to you prior to the expiry date. Conditions of the “1080 PAMA” must be followed in conducting each baiting program in addition to those required in the “Direction for Use of 1080 for Pest Animal Control”. Application forms can be obtained from the Chemical Services website: www.chemicalservices.nt.gov.au or by contacting this Office, and completed applications should be returned to: The Chemicals Coordinator Department of Primary Industry & Fisheries CS Robinson Building Berrimah Farm GPO Box 3000 DARWIN NT 0801 Fax: 8999 2111 Email: chemicals@nt.gov.au For further information or assistance with completing this applications contact the Chemical Services Section on 08 8999 2344 or by email at: chemicals@nt.gov.au .
