Course description Introduction to Linguistics couse is aimed to introduce students the details of linguistics, its characteristics and issues concerning linguistics that are more debatable over the world nowadays. The course mainly deals with the English language. From this standpoint, the language of instruction is English. The course will apply to the great works and ideas of famous linguistics as- Stephen Krashen’s, Noam Chomsky’s, Douglas Brown’s, Lightbown Spada’s ideas and thoughts concerning to linguistics. The materials will be offerred in one copy by the instructor. All the students are expected to make the copy of them. Other recommendary readings will be oferred by the instructor to read from Khazar University library. During the course, the students are expexted to particiapate actively and to make group presentations on the isssues that we discussed.
