Volume 8 Issue 3 ........................ November 2004 LETTER FROM YOUR PRESIDENT This letter will be short and to the point. PEAM had a very good year, thanks to everyone's help. Congratulations to all of the Circuit Champions and to the Year-End Award winners. I hope everyone will be able to attend the banquet this year, the information is attached. We need to start thinking of people to fill our offices this year and committees. If some of the new people are interested in offices or committees, please let someone know and we would love to get you involved. We also need to be thinking of people for the offices of National Directors. This will be important for the meeting in January in Nashville, Tennessee, as well as the National Convention in March, 2005. Our schedule for the banquet will run the same as last year, so hopefully, that will work for everyone. THANKS for a great year!! THE AGENDA INCLUDES: ELECTION OF OFFICERS COMMITTEE MEETINGS GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING GREAT BUFFET DINNER AND........... PRESENTATION OF "YEAR-END AWARDS!!!" OCTOBER HORSE SHOW We had all "Class A" shows at our October Circuit!! Thanks to all that attended!! We have the October Circuit Champions listed on our Website as well as the Futurity Winners!! It was a great show and our judges were OUTSTANDING!! If you haven't looked at our website lately, please do so. There is so much information out there and lots of pictures! Had a great time with the Youth and the Doggie Costume Class this is always so much fun for the exhibitors as well as the puppies!! Once again, Rick and Jenny Tudor outdid themselves in this fundraiser for the Youth. The Youth were able to make a donation of 85 pounds of dog food to PALS animal shelter in Columbia, Missouri. This is certainly teaching our Youth a very valuable lesson in caring for all our 4-legged friends!! Needless to say, our BBQ and Auction were AWESOME!! Our thanks goes to Delbert Johnson who always does an OUTSTANDING job on the Auction! And, how could we forget our "out of state exhibitors" who come every year and help with the Auction. Terry Furnish, Darrel Hersom and Sue Heston you have no idea how much we truly appreciate your help!! Not only does the club and Youth make money, but we have an absolute BLAST doing so!! YOUTH PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE..... How's everyone doing?! Did you enjoy the show in October? I did, especially the costume contest for our LITTLE four-legged pets. It was a hard choice trying to judge all of the cute costumes. I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving Holiday. Hope to see everyone at the banquet December 11th. We need to elect Youth officers and we'll be talking about the 2005 Youth World Show theme for stall decorations and the Parade of States. Christal Peterson 135 Mill Hollow Rd. Forsyth, MO 65653 (417) 546-4410 YOUTH ADVISORS...... Hi PEAM Youth! We had a successful Fall Haul Show in Columbia at the first of October. We enjoyed everyone's participation and we missed those of you that couldn't make it! We want to wish Vannessa Hancock a speedy recovery from her Cross Country injuries. Hope she is able to get back into the saddle soon!! We wish Bethany Balk the best of luck in her search for a reining horse-hopefully she'll find a golden horse and be back with us at the spring show!! We were glad to have new PEAM members Erin and Katie Forsyth showing with us at the Fall Haul for the first time as well. And, as always, we were happy to have youth from out-of-state joining us at the show! Our youth fundraisers were a BIG success!! Thanks for everyone's help! We earned $434.50 from the auction, $44.50 from the Walk-Trot Fun Class, $110 from the Mystery Box Silent Auction, and $34 from the Doggie Costume Class. We were also able to donate 85 POUNDS of dog food to PALS animal shelter. Thanks to David Holliday for delivering it for us. A special thanks goes out to our Mystery Box bidders and the eventual winners were: Christal Peterson, Lauren Wilson, Sue Heston, Don Smith, and Carol Stephenson. Be sure to join us at the Year-End Awards Banquet and meeting in Columbia on Saturday, December 11. We will be having a youth meeting prior to dinner. Items that will be discussed are: our spring show fundraisers, the 2005 World Show theme for stall decorations and the Parade of States, election for National and Alternate National Directors, as well as the election for our PEAM youth officers. If you can't attend, be sure to let us know if you'd be interested in a position and we'll get your name on the agenda. After the banquet, we will continue the festivities at our host hotel, Drury Inn (1000 Knipp Street-south of I-70 just off Stadium Drive-near the Columbia Mall) for a youth swim party and movie fest! To make reservations, call 573-445-1800 and ask for lodging with Rick Tudor and the Palomino group. Room rates are $74.99 plus tax. Since we weren't expecting an overly large number of reservations, we weren't able to get a substantial discount on the rates, therefore, the PEAM Youth treasury will subsidize each Missouri youth member's family with $20 to help reduce the cost of the stay. Come join with us and reap the benefits of your fundraising activities!! Drury Inn suggested making reservations just as soon as possible to ensure that we'd be together near the pool. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to e-mail or call us! See you in December!
