COOLED SHIPPED SEMEN STALLION SERVICE CONTRACT
This STALLION SERVICE CONTRACT for the breeding season of 2014 is entered into on this day
Of ________________________________ by and between High Point Farm Ventures, LLP referred to
herein as BREEDER; and ______________________________________, hereafter referred to as MARE
OWNER. Mare owner agrees to breed the Mare: ________________________________________,
Reg#___________________________________________ to the Stallion HBF Catch My Irons, AQHA
Reg#X0667011, APHA Reg#924,309 and pay the Stallion Fee together with all other expenses stated
herein.
1. This contract is specific to mares bred with Cooled Shipped Semen.
2. The breeding fee of $500.00 includes a non-refundable booking fee of $ 100.00 payable upon the execution
of this contract. One collection/shipment is included in the breeding fee. The balance of the breeding fee,
semen collection/shipping, and any Equitainer fees must be paid 5 working days prior to shipment of any
semen. A copy of the Mare’s registration papers shall accompany the booking fee.
3. Unless otherwise specified Breeder will ship in a disposable semen shipping container. (If the mare owner
chooses, he/she can provide Breeder with an Equitainer.
4. Breeder will ship semen under this agreement commencing February 15. The mare owner is responsible
for a $250 semen collection/preparation fee per collection/shipment to be paid before shipment is made. The
container holds two insemination doses. Shipped semen is routinely shipped FED-EX overnight service on
Monday, Wednesday and/or Friday. This charge is paid by the mare owner using a credit card. The mare
owner MUST notify Breeder when the mare comes into heat and orders must be placed by 5pm central
standard time the night before the necessary collection day. Shipment orders cannot be guaranteed if they are
placed via e-mail, you must call to confirm.
5. The mare owner shall attempt with reasonable diligence to settle the mare. In this regard the mare owner
shall enlist the services of a licensed veterinarian experienced in equine reproduction and shipped cooled
semen. The mare must be inseminated per AQHA/APHA rules within 72 hours of the collection time written
on the Insemination Certificate accompanying the semen. Semen may be used only for the mare named
herein. If the mare does not settle the mare owner may try shipped cooled semen the following year only.
6. The mare owner must send Breeder the COMPLETED PINK COPY of the COLLECTION /
INSEMINATION CERTIFICATE within 72 hours of insemination, AND FORWARD THE COMPLETED
WHITE COPY to AQHA within 15 DAYS of INSEMINATION.
7. The mare owner MUST ULTRASOUND the mare for pregnancy between 14 - 22 days following
insemination to ensure that the embryo is healthy, growing and not twinned. Failure to comply with this
pregnancy check may null and void the contract.
8. A breeder’s certificate will be issued upon notification that the mare has produced a live foal provided
there are no outstanding accounts. Should the mare fail to produce a live foal (one that is able to stand and
nurse) the mare owner shall be entitled to rebreed that same mare the following breeding season only,
providing Breeder is notified in writing by a licensed veterinarian within 7 days after the death of the foal. If
the mare becomes unfit for breeding or dies, the mare owner may breed another mare within one year under
the terms of this contract. Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES will the breeding fees be refunded unless the
stallion dies, or becomes unfit for service.
9. The mare owner will solely be responsible for all registration fees and / or nomination fees incurred on the
foal produced as a result of this service.
10. This agreement represents the entire agreement between the parties. No other agreements or promises,
verbal or implied are included unless specifically stated herein. This agreement cannot be transferred without
prior written consent of the stallion owner.
