Summary: Assistant Vice President to assist in the evaluation of insured municipal issuers and their
related bonds. The analyst will report to the Head of Surveillance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The analyst will monitor a portfolio of insured credits. The analyst will ensure that insured issuers have
delivered their disclosure reports when required. The analyst will analyze disclosure reports and make
internal rating recommendations to the Surveillance Committee. The analyst will ensure that the
updated financial, economic and demographic data is input to the company’s database and any issuer
updates are then made available on the company’s website.
The analyst will be responsible for completing and presenting sector reviews to the Surveillance
Committee based on research and trends observed through the annual reviews of insured issuers. The
analyst will also be responsible for ad-hoc projects as needed.
Qualifications/Requirements:









Proficiency with Excel, Word, Powerpoint
Excellent analytical and municipal credit skills
Superior written and oral communication
Ability to work both independently and within a team
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, economics or business, or related fields
Masters degree in a related field is a plus
4-6 years experience in municipal bond/credit analysis
Prior bond insurance and/or rating agency experience is a plus
Chartered Financial Analyst designation is also desirable
