Job location: The Regional Director of Oncology Services position will be
primarily based at Presence Saint Joseph Hospital-Chicago.

Presence Health is the largest Catholic health system in Illinois, with 12
hospitals, 27 long-term care and senior living facilities, dozens of physician
offices and health centers, home care, hospice, behavioral health services
and more.
The Regional Director of Oncology Services, Lakefront Region of
Presence Health will coordinate the cancer programs at Presence Saint
Joseph Hospital-Chicago in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood, and Presence
Saint Francis Hospital, in Evanston, IL. The cancer programs of both
hospitals are Accredited with Commendation by the American College of
Surgeons Commission on Cancer, and both hospitals are Breast Imaging
Centers of Excellence by the American College of Radiology. Presence Saint
Joseph Hospital is also an accredited Breast Center by the National
Accreditation Program for Breast Centers.
This is an exciting time to become part of the Presence Health team. The
system currently sees over 5,700 newly diagnosed cancer patients a year.
The Regional Director will provide administrative oversight for a new Center
for Cancer Care at the Presence Center for Advanced Care (PCAC) opening in
2015 on Presence Saint Joseph Hospital’s North Lake Shore Drive campus.
In addition to the regional role, the Regional Director will be a member of
the recently created Presence Health Oncology Service Line, providing an
opportunity to impact the lives of more than three million people within our
service area.
The Regional Director will work in collaboration with Administration, the
Medical Director of the Center for Cancer Care and the Presence System Vice
President-Oncology to develop short-term and long-term plans for the
growth and expansion of existing services as well as to enhance current
levels of excellence. Our hospitals offer a complete range of cancer services
including screenings; diagnostics; medical, surgical and radiation oncology
treatment options; clinical trials and support services. Our team of experts
works to deliver clinically integrated, cost-effective, coordinated care for all
types of cancers using state-of-the-art techniques, while providing patients
and family members a nurturing and healing environment and personal
patient experience.
Essential Responsibilities
Responsibilities of the Regional Director of Oncology Services will include:
Business Planning and Growth
Building physician and network relationships and referrals; identifying and
articulating common goals and opportunities; and developing programmatic
plans to achieve them.
Program Development
Participating in Presence Health system planning for Oncology Services,
including programmatic assessment, development and implementation in
collaboration with patients, community, physicians and other team
members.
Operational Management
Supervising Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Infusion Center, Patient
Navigators and Cancer Registry; ensuring that patients and families are
involved in all key decisions regarding the delivery of cancer services in
order to provide an exceptional patient experience; capital planning,
operating budget development, implementation of lean principles, labor and
supply management.
Quality Improvement
Continually assessing all services, operations and procedures for quality
improvement opportunities, using techniques of systems analysis and
project management to achieve desired outcomes. The Regional Director
must be fully knowledgeable with CoC and NAPBC accreditation standards.
Financial Management
Demonstrating detailed knowledge of financial operations, including the
ability to analyze costs (labor, supplies and pharmaceuticals) and
reimbursement. The Regional Director will also exhibit the ability to
transition to new models of care delivery.
Requirements


Minimum of five to seven years of relevant experience in management
of an Oncology Program.
MBA, MHA, MSN or other advanced degree required.
