DATE: ---- July 2013 BROAD PURPOSE OF JOB Responsible for operational leadership of projects within the International R&D portfolio with a key focus on Oncology projects. Optimise the efficiency, speed and collective value of R&D project development and delivery from the earliest stages of research to the conduct of clinical development and commercialisation. Accountable for all aspects of International Oncology project management (Europe, Asia Pacific and Latin America) and oversees the creation of clear Target Product Profiles (TPP), Strategic Development Plans (SDP), Risk Management Plans (RMP) and also establish project scope, timelines, resource requirements and milestones for deliverables. B. SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Responsible for leading International R&D project management teams in partnership with the Executive Director of Project Management (Oncology) and fully accountable for project results. Responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, to the TPP, to agreed cost, performance and quality 2. Responsible for ensuring development and maintenance of Target Product Profiles, Strategic Development Plans and Risk Management Plans. Evaluates the probability of success for each project within the portfolio 3. Coordinates the portfolio budgeting process – liaises with departmental and functional heads to establish project FTE requirements and direct costs and builds these into project financial workbooks 4. In partnership with the Executive Director of Project Management (Oncology), lead R&D participation in oncology due diligence processes for new business opportunities. 5. Partner with MINT Business Development in the evaluation of in-licensing and commercial opportunities and the assessment of the Oncology therapeutic area as part of the due diligence process 6. Accountable for identifying and implementing best practice, and identifying issues which impact on project progress directing the project team members to resolve identified issues 7. Deputises for the R&D Executive Director of Project Management (Oncology) when necessary 8. Accountable for liaising between a broad range of parties both internal to the company and external partners to ensure agreement of project timelines 9. Accountable for accurate and current International product plans with direct accountability for project deliverables 10. Ensures appropriate project information cascade and communication occurs within the project teams. Ensures timely and accurate project information is represented and maintained on R&D Insight. 11. Partner with MINT and R&D Medical Science & Operations to interact with Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) and KOL networks in order to foster relationships which establish the presence and reputation of Mundipharma Research 12. Accountable for identifying and implementing best operational practice, identifying risks and issues which impact on project progress, and directing the project team members to resolve challenges 13. Take responsibility for personal learning and development in order to reach, and maintain the required level of skills, knowledge and experience to perform the role 14. To undertake any other duties that may reasonably be requested by the Executive Director of Project Management C. QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE Science degree, together with significant experience in the Pharmaceutical industry and substantial knowledge of the research and drug development process (minimum 10 years) A demonstrated ability to effectively manage internal and external relationships Significant experience in operational planning, coupled with successful implementation of processes Proven track record in leadership and management of projects and teams preferably with a focus in Oncology Cultural sensitivity gained from experience within diverse environments. Understanding of the industry trends and emerging issues in Europe, Asia Pacific and Latin America, including social, economic and regulatory factors that might impact the delivery of successful outcomes D.
