RTI General Information
Documentation
- All RTI Tier 2/3 information is kept in a yellow RTI folder.
- Turner/Hudson will ensure all students serviced in the classroom
and with them in pull-out have the proper paperwork.
o Tier 2 students need:
 Tier II Conference Notes
 Set goal/intervention in STAR
o Tier 3 students need:
 Tier III Conference Notes
 Set goal/intervention in STAR (there must be a red
line for change in intervention if the child changes
from tier 2 to tier 3)
 ESL students will need the Addendum for English
Learners (collaborate with Ran)
 Documentation in IC
- All tier 2 students are tested monthly and tier 3 students are
tested twice a month using STAR.
- Richardson
o Will take notes during all RTI meetings. She will send
these electronically.
o Upload the tier 3 paperwork into Infinite Campus.*
o Flag any students who are tier 3.
- Turner/Hudson
o Copy the notes Richardson sends after every RTI meeting
to the conference notes section of the student’s
paperwork. They will print these for the yellow folders.
o Notify Richardson when tier 3 notes are complete after
each RTI meeting so that she can upload these to IC.
o We will be adding labels to the front of the yellow folders
to indicate when the child entered/exited tier 2/3.
Updated July 13, 2015
Turner/Hudson update these at the end of each RTI
meeting.
* More information is to come about how we document tier 2/3 in IC.
This may become part of the role of the interventionists depending on
what is communicated from the district.
Homeroom Teachers
- Please bring your list of students serviced in the classroom to
each RTI meeting so that you can be aware of which students
need to be serviced. Also, bring your gradebook or current work
samples to note their progress during RTI.
- For all tier 2 serviced in the classroom:
o You must set a goal/intervention in STAR for your student.
See directions below.
o Remember that what you do with these tier 2 students
should be something different than what you are doing
with the rest of your class.
o The intervention that you list should be specific! Don’t put
“Lexia.” This should be a teacher-led lesson at least 3 days
a week.
- Remember that all students who are tier 2 serviced in the
classroom will need to be tested monthly in whichever area they
are identified (reading/math). It is crucial that we have this
data.
- You must read through the RTI minutes that Richardson sends
out monthly and note any changes that impact students you
service.
- If you have questions, please ask.

4. Click on the student’s name when it comes up.
5. Click on “Add Goal”
6. Type in a specific intervention. For example: “30 minutes
daily of LLI Orange Level in small groups” or “30 minutes
daily of Do the Math Book A”

8. Determine if the goal should be Moderate, Ambitious, or
Custom.
9. Click “save” and then “done”
Note: If you are changing a student from Tier 2 to Tier 3, you will
need to follow the same process but when you get to the goal page,
choose “Set up a new intervention and goal” instead of “Change
duration or goal of existing intervention.”
