Volunteers are needed to help with park set-up, run and walk registration, kids area, food tent,
greeters along run and walk path, water station, passing goodie bags to participants, and clean-up.
Jobs will be assigned once volunteer information is received.
When: Saturday, October 1st, anytime between 6:30am-2:00pm

Extreme Makeover: Weller Neighborhood Edition*
Volunteer to make a difference in the lives of the Weller Neighborhood and our community. Some
tasks include exterior painting, power washing, and yard work.
When: Oct 7th/8th, 8:30am-3:30pm
Where: The Weller Neighborhood north of Chestnut, south of Commercial, west of Glenstone, and east
of National.

Least Of These*
For the past 12 years Least Of These has coordinated the County-Wide Adopt a Family program. In the
month of November, Least of These will need 3-4 volunteers for each shift (8am-11am and 11am2pm), three days a week for three weeks (closed Thanksgiving week). Volunteers will be taking
information for families applying for the Adopt a Family program. Looking for mature volunteers, who
have a heart for the less fortunate, who can take down confidential information, as well as articulate
on the form why this particular family is need of Christmas assistance. The volunteer would have to
commit to at least 2-3 shifts for the month and agree to be interviewed here at the pantry in advance.
When: At least 2-3 shifts in the month of November. Times listed above.

KSMU Fall Fundraiser*
Volunteers are needed to answer the phone during the phone bank as part of the drive.
When: Thursday, October 20 through Friday, October 28. See attached schedule for shifts.

SAAFhouse Spay-Neuter Clinic; Sterile Feral Day*
October 16 is National Feral Cat Day. (Feral cats are not owned, live outside, and are generally afraid of people.)
In observance, SAAFhouse will hold an even to increase awareness of feral cats and of the spay/neuter services
provided by SAAFhouse, a nonprofit veterinary clinic. Ten student volunteers are needed to distribute literature
to neighborhoods at risk for overpopulation of feral cats. Students will hand out flyers with basic information
about feral/stray cats and the services that SAAFhouse provides. Students will also receive treats and toys to
hand out to residents.
When: Saturday, October 16th (rain date Sunday, October 23) from 12:30pm-4:00pm

Volunteers are needed to assist with providing recreational activities for children with visual impairments.

Victory Trade School*
Looking for enthusiastic volunteers to tutor students dedicated to obtaining their GED. The GED program at
Victory Trade School is a residential, continuing education program that assists students in acquiring life skills
while working towards the completion of their GED. We would greatly appreciate volunteers willing to tutor
students in any high school equivalent subjects: Math, Essay Writing, Science, Social Studies, and Reading
Comprehension.
When: Year round, Weekdays, study hours from 3:30-6pm (flexible). Open to weekend hours.

Bass Pro’s Outdoor Fitness Festival*
Big Brothers Big Sisters is in charge of gathering around 500 volunteers to make Outdoor Fitness Festival a
success. The event consists of 4 weekends that encourage health and wellness in the Ozarks. The individual
events where Big Brother Big Sisters needs help include bike races, trail runs, and marathons. Volunteer duties
for these various events include: event set-up, working registration tables, and helping runners along the race
courses. There are plenty of volunteer opportunities and we encourage participants to sign up for as many or as
few shifts as their schedule allows.
Attached is the volunteer registration form. After completing the form, volunteers can sent it to the Big Brothers

Lost & Found Grief Center Internship*
Lost & Found Grief Center is seeking a creative, detail-oriented college student with strong communication and
public relation skills to assist the Marketing & Events Coordinator. Opportunity to gain valuable experience while
working on a variety of communication projects involving Web site maintenance, social media, as well as
preparations and execution of Lost & Found Grief Center’s events.
Time Commitment: 6-8 hours a week
