January 2014 Good Morning NA Family, myself and Andrea attended Region in San Andreas last month with 7 of 7 RCM’s present and Fresno this month with 5 of 7 RCM’s present. Web Servant Alternate is still open. SSP Update- Due to the current financial shortage of the region, we discussed not sending the delegates to the Western States Zonal Forum in Palm Springs, but felt that because all areas in our region have expressed that the Service System Project is not something any of the areas are interested in adopting, and the WSZF is where delegates from all the western states will get together and prepare for the World Service Conference in Woodland Hills in late April, we felt that it is very important for your delegates to participate during this very important time so that your voices are heard loud and clear on this issue, so they will be attending. A lot of other regions feel the same way our region does about the SSP, and because of the way we were instructed by 2 world board members to write the proposal that was written for inclusion in the 2014 Conference Agenda Report, motion, then did not include it in the CAR because it was not a written correctly, we believe that unless the delegates form a united voice of the regions, the SSP will stay on the current track of the World Board which is to continue to fund it. (response to CAR 2014) Western Service Learning Days XXVII- The Delegate team is still working on the full report. CMSRCC XIII update- The calendar looks great, they will be for sale for $15.00. I have Tumblers! Please see me after the meeting to purchase! Convention tri-Folds are out. Convention Committee will be doing Coffee & Cake fundraisers that will highlight NA history and they are asking for a member with 25+ years to help them with that, please call Doug C. at 559-681-3646. If you haven’t reserved your room yet at the doubletree in Modesto, you might want to start thinking about it. What do you GSR’s think about our area having a convention fundraiser? Betty W. was voted in as Vice-Chair, an amends letter was sent to Cindy M. The convention committee is again asking if you still think the multi-cultural liaison should be under the member services subcommittee, instead of voting committee member. Region- Areas are pulling together to make donations to region to help cover the shortage of funds because of the low area donations this past year, some of the members who attend region are ride sharing or not asking for mileage, and not asking to be reimbursed for copies among other things to help keep regional expenses down as much as possible. California Mid State Behind the Walls Adhoc- Kiva R. stepped down as adhoc chair and Gary T. was appointed to the position. We currently have 51 male, 7 female English sponsors and 4 male and 0 female Spanish sponsors. Our goal is to start assigning the sponsees to sponsors with inmates who have already returned the questionnaire and are ready to start working steps! Mileage for January to Fresno was 96 miles @ .51 a mile is $48.96 T.Y.F.L.U.B.O.S. Victoria P. RCM and Andrea B. RCMA
