Students will walk from St. Francis of Assisi School to the Mount St. Michael track. A reminder, parents, grandparents, and guardians are invited to join us for our walk. The purpose of this walk, is to support the goal of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, which is to continue Stephen’s legacy by supporting our nation’s first responders and service members. Building for America’s Bravest, a program of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, constructs specially adapted Smart Homes for our most catastrophically injured service members. Tunnel to Towers also established the Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund in order to assist as many families as possible in the Tri-State area, who have experienced the incredible loss and devastation of this epic storm. The children are highly motivated to get involved and make a difference. Each student today received a walk-a-thon packet with the following information: Students can start collecting donations from family and friends. Please have your child complete the donation/ pledge form and keep any monies collected in the envelope provided. If needed, we will have plenty of extra forms and/or envelopes available. Checks should be made payable to Stephen Siller Tunnel To Towers Foundation. Please refer to the donation letter / pledge form for more information. Also, for those of you with siblings, please divide donations up on their pledge sheets. We cannot put donations in both classes. You determine who donates to which child. There is a permission slip, which must be completed and returned. In addition, there is also a donation letter attached if you know of any businesses that would be willing to contribute donations or prizes. Prizes will be awarded for individuals and the classroom with the largest sponsorships. More information to follow. By April 28th, we will have a tab on our school website to keep you up to date on the event and with access to www.tunnel2towers.org Mrs. Mary Jane Helmrich Principal (SFA) Mr. Richard Helmrich Principal (OLG) Mr. Marc Silva Asst.
