Welcome to the 2016 Wisconsin State Snow Sculpting Competition, hosted in
picturesque Downtown Racine, Friday, January 8 – Sunday, January 10, 2016.
The 2016 competition will bring 10 of the region’s best three-person snow
sculpting teams to Downtown Racine’s Monument Square. Seven snow blocks,
6’ x 6’ x 10’, are being reserved for Wisconsin teams. Three snow blocks, of the
same size, will be made available to teams with participants from outside of
Wisconsin.
All sculptors will be competing for cash prizes. Wisconsin teams will be
competing for the State title and an invitation to the 2017 U. S. National Snow
Sculpting Competition in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Please consider applying for
your opportunity to compete in this year’s event. Attached is the application
for the 2016 Wisconsin State Snow Sculpting Competition hosted in Downtown
Racine.
AGA Nation’s Winter Rail Jam, a mobile snowboard and freestyle ski event, will
be joining us again this year. This “Big Thrills” event is sponsored by RealRacine.
We will be utilizing 5th Street, just north of Monument Square for professional
snowboard and skiing demonstrations and open riding times for the public.
2016 WISCONSIN STATE SNOW SCULPTING APPLICATION & RULES
*Each team wanting to compete for the State title and invitation to the 2017 U. S. National
Snow Sculpting will consist of three Wisconsin State residents.
*Exhibition teams, wanting to compete for People’s Choice award will consist of three
sculptors without residency restrictions.
*Only snow and ice on the site may be used. Water will be provided on site.
*No molds/molded forms may be used.
*No power tools will be allowed – Hand tools only.
*No artificial colorants or lighting may be used.
*No supports/armatures may be used.
*Sculptures must represent the concept Entry Drawing.
*All Sculptures must be the artists’ original concept.
NO COPYRIGHTED IMAGERY/CONCEPTS ALLOWED.
*All sculptors must follow the code of conduct.
*The consumption of alcohol on the site is prohibited.
*Each team will have a 6 x 6 x 10 ft. block of snow. The final sculpture may not exceed 12’ in
overall diameter
*Entry deadline is November 30, 2015.
