Rooks Creek District #425 Graymont P.T.O. April 5, 2011 Room counts were taken. The 1st and 2nd grade classroom won. Treasurer’s Report (Brenda Shaughnessy) As of 4/4/11 checking has a balance of $5781.80 and savings has a balance of $1063.26. Book Fair – (Sarah Jacobs) Each teacher was able to spend $80 for their classroom libraries. 60 new books were added for the entire school. The school earned $175 worth of vouchers. The kindergarten class won the book bingo. Next year’s book fair is scheduled for Feb. 20th-Feb. 24th, 2012. Box Tops (Shelly Koehler) - $120.30 was deposited on 4/4/11. Cookbooks – 14 books remaining. It was a great success. Ground Beautification – (Rusty Rich) At the south end of the building, water comes off the roof. Pea gravel is needed of prevent a mud hole. Sarah Jacobs made a motion to spend $200 on landscaping. It was 2nd and passed. Max Dollars - (Lori Durham) Runs for three months in the fall/winter. Soup Supper (Kelli Embley)- Deposited $1494. Last year’s profit was between $750-$850. Discussion of ideas for next year. No actions were taken. Discussion will continue at future meetings. Staff Appreciation – (Dawn DeWald) Staff appreciation is the week of May 2nd-May 6th . P.T.O. donated $200 for staff appreciation. Student Council (report from Keri Wilson) The students have two more visits to the Livingston County Humane Society. For Earth Day, student council will encourage everyone to wear green and donate/plant flowers at the post office and school. Spirit Week begins May 16th. Student council plans to purchase t-shirts for fun day. Shelly Koehler suggested selling t-shirts and hoodies. New design? Also a suggestion to have sign up for t-shirts/hoodies at the pork chop supper. Spring Concert – Scheduled for April 28, 2011 at 7:00 P.M. Grades 5-8 will bring snacks. Winners of the drawing for front row seats are Shelly Koehler and Jill Bressner. Fun Day – May 31st. A motion was made by Cory Robinson to donate up to $300 to cover the costs. 2nd by Sarah Jacobs. Motion passed. Field Trips Kindergarten – Children’s Discovery Museum, cost is $16. 1st-4th Grade – going to the Wildlife Prairie Park on May 27th. Entrance fee, program, train ride. 5-8th Grade – Museum of Science and Industry. $136 is needed to pay for three adults and a learning lab. Cory Robinson made a motion to spend up to $400 for the school field trips. 2nd by Sarah Jacobs. Motion passed. Music Department asked for $100 for graduation music. A motion was made by Sarah Jacobs to give $100 to the music department. 2nd by Shelly Koehler. Motion passed. P.T.O.
