Extra Credit & Make-up Assignments
There will be no extra credit assignments given or accepted. Students will have ample time to complete all assignments and
activities. If for some reason a student or group of students feels like they will not be able to complete their assignment by
the due date, they must notify me at least forty-eight (48) hours in advance. If extensions are given, students will lose points
from the final grade of the assignment/project. NO ASSIGNMENT/PROJECT WILL BE ACCEPTED MORE THAN TWENTYFOUR (24) HOURS PAST THE DUE DATE, SEVENTY-TWO (72) HOURS FOR FRIDAY DUE DATES.
Students have seven (7) calendar days from the day missed to complete and submit any missed assignments and/or
recover any points from an assignment they were unsuccessful in. There will be a make-up signup sheet posted in the
computer lab for students to sign up if they should need to come into the lab outside of class time for computer access,
internet access, or my assistance. Students must sign up on the make-up signup sheet before arriving outside of their
regular scheduled class period.
Please make sure that you have read and understand all of the material in the following documents. Some of them must be
signed and returned to the instructor before students will be allowed to use computers.
HISD Appropriate Use Policy
This document outlines rules and policies for students who will be using computers on any HISD campus. Violation of any of the policies
outlines in this document will result in disciplinary action.
Opt-Out Form for Student Use of the HISD’s Internet
This form only needs to be signed if parent/guardian DOES NOT want their student to have access to Internet or other HISD electronic
resources. If there are no objections to using HISD electronic resources this form can be discarded.
Media Release Form
The HISD Media Release form gives the district permission to use the student’s photo in publications and other documents for educational
purposes. Students will be creating an electronic portfolio in all of the courses I teach. It would be preferred that they include a personal
photo of themselves in the portfolio to personalize it. I will also take photos of the students as they complete their assignments in class to
add to the newsletter and the class website. The parent’s signature on the Media Release Form authorizes the school to use photos of
students for educational purposes.
Tardy Policy
This document outlines the tardy policy for the 2013-2014 school year and disciplinary actions that will be taken when a student is
excessively tardy to class.
Electronic Device Agreement
This document outlines this course’s policy for electronic devices and the consequences for not adhering to standards that have been set
by HISD.
