Job Responsibilities 1. Develop, establish and maintain close external and internal collaborative partnerships: With State Government Departments and National Sporting Organisations (NSOs) with a view to developing joint programs With the Assistant Director (NSO Liaison) and ASC internal branches in relation to liaison with and reporting to national and state sporting organisations. 2. Lead and manage the Zones in the effective delivery of the AASC program to ensure a high quality program is maintained, working closely with staff to ensure appropriate sharing of information and best practice between national and state sporting organisation programs and projects to maximise the strategic alignment between the AASC program and sport 3. Work collaboratively with other AASC Zone Directors to best achieve National consistency in AASC program outcomes 4. Contribute to the management of the ASC’s engagement with the Committee of Australian Sport and Recreation Officials, including the ASC’s contribution to the national work plan 5. Provide high level strategic advice to the DGM, ASC Executive, Board and the Minister’s Office as required to the continued development of the AASC program. Assist the DGM in strategic planning discussions and decisions within the Sports Development division and broader ASC 6. As a member of the senior management team, actively promote and contribute to positive organisational culture; effective communication both internally and externally; and continuous improvement of the AASC program 7. Collect data, compile reports and provide advice and information to key internal and external stakeholders and professionally represent the Commission in media interviews, meetings and conferences. Decision making: Overall management decisions including the exercise of high-level judgement in the prioritisation of projects; providing advice; and in making sound decisions within the context of the ASC Strategic Plan. People Management: Yes – One direct report with up to 48 employees (Zone dependent) Budget management responsibility: Yes – Up to $6 Million (Zone dependent) Selection Criteria Qualifications and Experience Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as management, change management, communications, business analysis or sport administration Demonstrated experience providing very high level policy and strategic advice Demonstrated experience in leading project and program coordination and associated research within a fast pace and fluid work environment Demonstrated experience in establishing high level strategic partnerships resulting in program implementation. Knowledge and Skills Demonstrated high level conceptual and analytical skills and an ability to think strategically in an environment of continuous improvement Demonstrated capacity to lead the design and development of solutions to address sport system challenges and gaps Ability to develop costed system, program, project, business, and activity plans as required High level understanding of the structure and dynamics of Australian sport and government processes, including the interrelationships at local, state and national level.
