Dr. Kirstyn M. Kameg, DNP, PMHNP-BC AIME Project Director PMHNP Program Coordinator Professor of Nursing Biography Dr. Kirstyn Kameg, Director of the Access to Interprofessional Mental Health Education (AIME) Health Resources and Services Administration grant and Coordinator of the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) program, has partnered with the Heritage Valley Family Medical Residency Program to provide interprofessional educational experiences for the medical residents and medical students and RMU's PMHNP students. Simulation experiences include utilization of standardized patients to simulate patients experiencing multiple chronic conditions including both medical and psychiatric diagnoses in addition to incorporating the core competencies for interprofessional collaborative practice. Grant funding has also supported the development of videos that can be used by other health care professionals for further interprofessional education and the integration of behavioral health in the primary care setting.
