Release The KRAKEN! On a day like any other, tourists were spending the day at a beach in Honolulu. Little did they know, not two miles away, there was a giant creature that would ruin their plans. The Kraken was coming. The Kraken was a fifty foot long giant squid with an amount of evil that could compete with the evil of hell. Off the coast of Honolulu, a coast guard ship was rescuing a little boat that had run out of fuel. They were just about ready to pull up the passengers when the boat was pulled underwater. They radioed the coast guard base to tell them what happened when a massive tentacle instantly wrapped around the big coast guard boat and it was pulled under. The last thing the crew members ever saw were the menacing eyes of a gigantic squid. Back at the beach, San Holo the life guard was reading the newspaper. He had been a lifeguard for fifteen years and he, not once, ever had to rescue someone. This had made him very cocky. He looked up for a minute to look like he was watching the swimmers and to make sure they were all safe, but something quite near the shore caught his eye. A big black thing, that came up for a second and went down. As it went down, he saw things that looked like tentacles behind it. Moments later, it was complete chaos. A giant squid had arisen from the sea and was terrorizing the beach, picking up sunbathers and hurling them into the water. Some people were running away. Others were looking for something that they could quickly make into some kind of a spear to throw at the creature. A few were trying to call the Navy or the National Guard or anyone who could help with the situation. A squad of helicopters flew in but when they saw what was happening, they swiftly turned away and sped off. A group of naval destroyers and fighter jets came in and launched rockets and explosive shells. This only angered the creature and it swatted down jets and smashed the helms off the naval destroyers, and went right back to terrorizing the beach. The Pentagon ordered a full evacuation of Hawaii. Airplanes rushed to take off while they tried to stop the beast. They had to think of a plan, fast. The defense authorities were trying very hard to think of a plan when they got a call from the Pearl Harbor Bio Hazardous Substance Research Facility, they said they were worried that the Kraken would break open this massive vat of bio hazardous substance that could poison everyone in the entire U.S. five times over. A person named Gill Bates thought of a plan: what if they could use the poison to kill the Kraken? This poison could burn through fourteen layers of whale blubber easily, but it couldn’t burn through bones. A quick description of the Kraken and a few calculations later, they figured out that the poison would kill the Kraken, but it wouldn’t kill the beachgoers. The poison was taken by helicopter from Pearl Harbor to Honolulu and dropped on the monster. It screeched, grabbed the poison container and drank it. They waited a few minutes and just before the Kraken was about to grab an older man, it dropped, dead. Moments later it was still chaos, but it was a good chaos. People were cheering and clapping with joy: in front of TV screens all across North America, in coffee shops, in the streets and in front of phones. A big fishing trawler was called in to take it away; the corpse was riddled with holes from rocks thrown at it and it stunk of dead fish. People were very happy that the threat of a giant sea monster attacking them was gone… or was it? These people were too cocky and were unaware that something, even bigger, lurking in the depths of the sea was coming for them…
