There are eleven rooms with two double beds and ten rooms with one double bed plus one bunk bed. Each room has a private bath. There is a television in the community lounge. All are Invited and Welcomed Come for a few days or the full week A Time for Renewal Fellowship + Fun + Food Each morning at sunrise, Pastor Tim Bupp will lead a time of quiet meditation on the beach. You are invited to be a part of this meaningful way to start your day. And yes, you may bring your cup of coffee with you. There will be many opportunities to enjoy the fellowship of old friends and new friends. Much of the time will be free for you to mix and mingle. There will be time, too, for solitude and quiet reflection. Much of what happens is up to you. During the day you might want to set aside some “alone time” for personal reflection and meditation. For fun you have many options. There is the beautiful beach just a short stroll away. You can join others doing jigsaw puzzles, playing table games, going for walks, antiquing, sightseeing, shopping in Charleston, sitting on the deck, reading, and whatever else you choose. Early evening study followed by devotions will be offered for everyone. We will be using the book, “Reclaiming the ‘L’ Word” which is about renewing congregations by recognizing and living out the core teachings of our Lutheran faith, such as “justification by grace through faith”, sola scritura, etc. In the introduction, the author states: "I hope that people of every denomination will find this book helpful as they wrestle with these important issues within their own traditions.” Inspirational, engaging, and challenging, this book is a must-read for pastors and congregational leaders! Every day there will be a self-serve Continental Breakfast beginning at 7:00. Grab a cup of coffee and join Pastor Tim on the beach for a time of meditation and then enjoy breakfast together. Brunch will be served cafeteria style starting at 10:00. Brunch is served in lieu of lunch in case you want to spend time on the beach or go out on the town for a while. “Afternoon Delights” – Fix-it-yourself sandwiches and snacks will be available each afternoon. Everyone is asked to bring dessert and snack items to share. They will be available to all on the “Bring ‘n’ Share Table.” Dinner will be served at 6:00 each evening. We Need Everyone to Help In order to keep costs down and to insure no one has to spend all their time in the kitchen, everyone is asked to please help with meal preparations and clean-up. This is a great time for fellowship and fun together. Sign-up sheets will be available on site. Retreat Dates: September 7-13, 2015 Registration Information Room and Meal Reservations are made on your Reservation Form. We will assign rooms and have keys waiting for you when you arrive. Room Rate: $65 per room per night. Rooms accommodate 1-4 persons. Share a room and split the cost. You must bring your own sheets, pillow cases, towels (beach and bath) and personal toiletries. Meals: $15 per day per person over 12 years of age. $7 per day per child aged 6 to 12 Free for children less than 6 years of age. Children are Invited and Welcomed We encourage families to come to the retreat. Children stay for free in the same room with their parent(s). Meals are offered at reduced rates. There is a shaded playground at the Center and we plan to provide an indoor activity area. Volunteers are needed to help supervise the children’s areas and to give parents some break times. Payment for room and meals is to be made to Reformation Lutheran Church no later than Sunday, August 2, 2015. (This reflects a procedural change by the SC Lutheran Synod Retreat Centers regarding payment requirements.) Registration Forms must be completed and submitted by each person.
