A Time for Renewal
Fellowship + Fun + Food
Each morning at sunrise, Pastor Tim Bupp will lead a time of
quiet meditation on the beach. You are invited to be a part of
this meaningful way to start your day. And yes, you may
bring your cup of coffee with you.
There will be many opportunities to enjoy the fellowship
of old friends and new friends. Much of the time will be
free for you to mix and mingle. There will be time, too,
for solitude and quiet reflection. Much of what happens is
up to you.
During the day you might want to set aside some “alone
time” for personal reflection and meditation.
For fun you have many options. There is the beautiful
beach just a short stroll away. You can join others doing
jigsaw puzzles, playing table games, going for walks,
antiquing, sightseeing, shopping in Charleston, sitting on
the deck, reading, and whatever else you choose.
Early evening study followed by devotions will be offered
for everyone. We will be using the book, “Reclaiming the ‘L’
Word” which is about renewing congregations by
recognizing and living out the core teachings of our
Lutheran faith, such as “justification by grace through faith”,
sola scritura, etc. In the introduction, the author states: "I
hope that people of every denomination will find this book
helpful as they wrestle with these important issues within
their own traditions.” Inspirational, engaging, and
challenging, this book is a must-read for pastors and
congregational leaders!
According to Pastor Tim, “It is critical for us, as a church, to
be thinking together about what it means for us to say that
we are God's people through Jesus… who also happen to be
Lutheran. This book is meant to spark a lively conversation

Fellowship + Fun + Food
We will enjoy a Welcome Party on Monday afternoon
followed by dinner in the dining room.
Every day there will be a self-serve Continental
Breakfast beginning at 7:00. Grab a cup of coffee and
join Pastor Tim on the beach for a time of meditation and
then enjoy breakfast together.
Brunch will be served cafeteria style starting at 10:00.
Brunch is served in lieu of lunch in case you want to
spend time on the beach or go out on the town for a
while.
“Afternoon Delights” – Fix-it-yourself sandwiches and
snacks will be available each afternoon. Everyone is
asked to bring dessert and snack items to share. They will
be available to all on the “Bring ‘n’ Share Table.”
Dinner will be served at 6:00 each evening.
We Need Everyone to Help
In order to keep costs down and to insure no one has to
spend all their time in the kitchen, everyone is asked
to please help with meal preparations and clean-up.
This is a great time for fellowship and fun together.
Sign-up sheets will be available on site.
