• Have students brainstorm their purpose
• 1 word or small phrases
• Narrow down to 5-6 most important
• Give them a sample Mission Statement
• In small groups, write a mission statement that covers those
voted most important
• Write on butcher paper
• Each group presents

• Spend time improving the final Mission
Statement so that EVERYONE agrees.
