December 2015 Newsletter
Mission Statement: The Mission of the Club is to provide safe and well maintained motorized recreational trails for residents
and visitors alike, resulting in economic support for the community.
YOUR RED ARROW BOARD: President, Gary Wagner; 1st VP, Larry Market; 2nd VP, Carl Christensen; Secretary, Kari
Hinkens; Membership Secretary, Sandy Wagner: Treasurer, Terry DeMoulin; Trail Boss, Jeff Kroll; Directors: Dave Hinkens,
Ron Popp, Mike Ott and John Brantmeier. Phone and e-mail addresses: See www.redarrowtownsend.com Contact us page.
Presidents Corner: Hello members, wow has the summer and fall flown by. It’s now time to put on your boots and suits and
see if you remember how to do that snow dance again. The trails are ready and the groomers are too. Let’s hope we have a safe
and snowy winter to enjoy the sport we love so much and work so hard to make our trails as good as any in the state. I would
like to thank everyone who has helped in any way make 2015 one of the best ever in Red Arrow’s long history. Your leadership
team alone can’t make it happen without you, this is your Club, you make it great, I thank you for that. We’ve been getting a
lot of new members this year, this is great, let’s make them feel at home like one of the family, that’s what a Club should be
about. I hope to see all of you on January 9th at Waubee Lake Lodge for our Christmas Party. It’s a great night of fellowship, a
chance to meet new friends and reunite with the old. My door is always open to all members, feel free to call or contact me
about anything, There are no stupid questions. Gary Wagner
Membership Corner: My name is Sandy Wagner and I have been the membership secretary since June 2015. There have been
some new developments in the membership renewal procedures. In the past we have run on a calendar year basis. Now
memberships will run for one year from the day they are processed. Your Red Arrow and AWSC membership will expire
at the same time. This is changing so that we can keep current memberships with AWSC. A current AWSC membership is
necessary to receive the discounted snowmobile trail pass. To make all this happen I will be sending emails when your
membership will be expiring. My aim is to send them to you a month in advance. When I receive your AWSC membership
card I will mail it out to you along with a club membership card and other club information. Please try to keep these cards in
a safe place so that you can find them when necessary to order your trail pass or to question your renewal date.
New this year: You can join/renew by going to our website redarrowtownsend.com and pay by using the PayPal feature. This
can be found under the membership section. You do not need a PayPal account to use PayPal. You can use a credit or debit
card. If you use this feature please follow the prompts to send me additional membership information. There is also a
membership form available on the website that you can print and mail to us. It will take a year or a little more for all
memberships to recycle so that I have you on a data base listing when everyone is due for renewal. In the meantime please be
aware of your membership dates and contact me if necessary. We have grown to over 400 memberships so as you can see we
are a growing/thriving club. Please feel free to e-mail me if you need your AWSC number or your renewal date. My e-mail is
sandywagner58@gmail.com
How to order your snowmobile trail passes: Your club membership does not include snowmobile trail passes. You will need
to purchase them yourself. To obtain the discounted trail passes you must go through the awsc.org website to order them. Make
sure you have your sled registration numbers and your AWSC number before you go on line. There are complete ordering
instructions on the AWSC website. They forward your order to the DNR and the DNR will mail the stickers directly to you.
Speed of them coming to you depends on how busy the order system is at that time. Early in the season it was less than a week.
As it gets closer to snow season it may take longer. Note: Discounted trail passes are only available using this process. If you
would have any questions about ordering the trail passes please feel free to contact me – 920-960-9794 or
sandywagner58@gmail.com
Annual Christmas Party: Enclosed with this mailing you will find an order form for our annual Christmas Party and January
meeting. We invite you to come and bring your friends & family. This is our only winter meeting that is held on a weekend
allowing our out of town members to attend. Please make your plans now while it is fresh on your mind. March 12th Dinner
Play tickets will be available at this event. Buy early… they will be going fast!
41st Annual Fish A Ree News: Plans are well underway for our annual event as you can see by the enclosed tickets. We urge
you to return them as soon as possible. This is one of two big fundraisers each year and your help is needed. Buying or selling
tickets helps a lot but you can also volunteer to help at the event on February 6th and 7th. Contact Terry DeMoulin at
tdemoulin@centurylink.net or (715) 276-1726 if you can help. This is a great way to meet other members and have fun while
helping raise funds to help maintain our trails.
November Membership meeting minutes: Please check our website www.redarrowtownsend.com Newsletters & Minutes tab
for current minutes and an electronic copy of this newsletter.
