Glass must be Class II Safety Rated. 1) Start by removing all wedge gaskets between glass and glass beads. 2) Once removed begin removing all glazing beads. Carefully pry the glazing bead from the door starting with the verticals and ending with the horizontals. 3) Clean debris from the interior of the frame using a cleaning solution making sure to remove all traces of old sealant (if any). 4) The replacement glass must be ¼” wire or ceramic glass rated for use in the application. Minimum size of the glass is 1” larger than daylight opening of the sash. 5) Next, add setting blocks in a cross blocking formation to distribute the weight of the glass toward the hinges. (Important! Not completing this step may affect operation of the window). Please contact Optimum for instructions should you need assistance. 6) Replace last perimeter glazing bead removed back in original position first. Next, replace all remaining glazing beads starting with the last bead removed, working backwards. If used, replace muntins and finally seal the exterior of the frame with glazing sealant. 1 Troubleshooting Chart Problem Possible Causes Solutions Moveable panel is hard to move in either direction. Clean water with slight amounts of mild alkaline detergents must be used. The cleaning effect may be increased by rubbing with a soft, non scratching cloth with modest pressure. The temperature of the parts to be cleaned must not exceed 80 degrees F. For removal of grease and oily substances isopropyl alcohol may be used. The cleaning solution must not be allowed to react for more than 1 (one) hour. After cleaning, the surfaces must be rinsed with clean, cold water. A proper maintenance record has to be kept and documented. This documentation must contain the following information; date, name and address of performing party, description of cleaning procedure and detergents used, and signature of person performing the cleaning procedure.
