Eligible CUPE 3908-1 positions include Instructors (Course, Academic Skills, ESL and Clinical), Tutorial and Workshop Leaders, Language Assistants, and Tutors. Limitations on nominations? Self-nominations are not accepted. Previous recipients are ineligible (see below). Who may nominate? Anyone internal or external to the Trent community who interacts with CUPE instructors. Individual nomination submissions are encouraged. Tell the story! Complete the “Candidate Qualifications” section by providing specific examples of how/why your candidate should be considered for the Award. 5. This award recognizes faculty and staff who make a distinctive impact through educational leadership, teaching, innovation, and/or successful communication. Award for Excellence in Teaching Assistance. This award recognizes teaching assistants who excel at encouraging learning in workshop, tutorial, seminar, laboratory, or field settings. HOW NOMINATIONS ARE RATED The CUPE Teaching Awards Committee’s decisions are based solely on the information that you provide on this nomination form. The CUPE Teaching Awards Committee looks for nominations which present specific details about a candidate's interaction with students, and clear examples illustrating strong, positive impact on students' learning. The more clearly the Subcommittee can “see” the candidate in the role of exemplary instructor, the more highly the Committee will rate that nomination. CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS Present specific details about your experience with the candidate, providing clear examples that highlight the skills, abilities and attributes of the candidate that demonstrate a positive impact on students and their learning.
