Registration for non-degree seeking students will open on December 1, 2015.
All Students:
 Students coming in under the 2014-2015 and later academic catalogs should run a degree
evaluation through Degree Works https://shenandoah.longwood.edu/dgw/. Tutorials for
Degree Works are available at: http://blogs.longwood.edu/degreeworks/.
 Students with prior catalog years should run their degree evaluation through
myLongwood http://my.longwood.edu/cp/home/loginf. Instructions are available in the
following tutorials: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lfT1CzEPbr4
and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_RM3oxpiKw
 If there are errors or concerns regarding your degree evaluation, come to the Office of the
Registrar located in Barlow or email registrar@longwood.edu
 Review the course offering for classes you want to register for
at: https://shenandoah.longwood.edu/bnr8prod/bwckschd.p_disp_dyn_sched or via “Course Search”
link on Registrar website.
 Be sure to look at the start and end dates of the class. Are you signing yourself up for an
abbreviated course?
 Use the Registration Worksheet at http://www.longwood.edu/assets/career/RegistrationWorksheet.pdf
to plan your classes.
 Have multiple schedule options in case classes are closed or sections have changed
 Ensure you have no account holds; check myLongwood and resolve the holds prior to your
registration time! Directions at: http://www.longwood.edu/howdoi.htm
Students who have earned 45 or fewer credits and Social Work Majors (regardless of credits
earned), must obtain pin from advisor:
Meet with your advisor
Sign Up sheets available with advisor
During Advisement Meeting review selected classes, reminder: have alternates
Obtain pin number
Register for class via myLongwood when your assigned time ticket opens
Students who have earned 46 or more credits and are not Social Work Majors:
Speak with advisor to ensure you are on track for degree completion in four years

Register for class via myLongwood when your assigned time ticket opens
Students with an Undeclared Major:
Must meet with your advisor in the Office of the Registrar
Obtain pin number
Register for class via myLongwood when your assigned time ticket opens
REMINDER: Your time ticket is based on the # of credit hours you’ve earned to date.

Tips and Tricks
Degree Works Users (For students in the 2014-2015 and later catalogs)
 Print or save your degree evaluation as a PDF to send to your advisor
Using Degree Evaluation in myLongwood (For students using Catalogs prior to 2014-2015)
 After selecting ‘Create new degree evaluation’ you must click the circle next to your listed
program for the degree evaluation to generate
 When printing either print at 85% or change orientation to landscape
Advising
 If you are unsure of your major, complete the General Education courses first!
 Thinking of changing your major …check out the tutorials and learn how to run a “What If” analysis!
 Check your graduation date! Are you on track to graduate in 4

 Check CRN’s the day before registration for changes
 Reminder: check pre-requisites and co-requisites
 Overrides for closed courses or unmet pre-requisites are at the discretion of the department chair
 Course time conflicts are not permitted
 Remember, when you are registering for condensed courses – they have different add/drop and
withdraw deadlines.
