The training has the aim of developing learning and skills through experience. The workshop methodology requires each participant in turn to take on the task of consulting to the group for two sessions. After each session there is a reflective space for members and consultants to review their experiences. The workshop methodology brings together the two traditions of Group Relations and Group Analysis. Its structure draws on a model of training developed by OPUS (Organisation for Promoting Understanding of Society) in London by Dr Lionel Stapley and Evelyn Cleavely. The Seminar – Aims, Purpose and Methodology The object of the workshop is to build on experience and to provide practice opportunities to develop capacity in consulting to small groups, and to deepen learning about small group dynamics and processes. The methodology involves all six members forming a small study group. For each session one member will take the role of consultant to the rest of the group. The consultant role is rotated. The task of the small study group is to experience and explore the behaviour of the group as it happens in the here and now. In total each member will have two sessions to experience and learn from the role of consultant. Each member consultant session will be 40 minutes. Each of these sessions will be followed by a reflective space for consultants and members to review their experiences. At the end of each rotation there will be a whole group discussion. Fee: The fee for this three day, non residential workshop is €700. Snacks and lunches will be provided. CPD Points: This training has been awarded 22 points.
