Greetings occupants,
Please note that during the week of June 13th, 2011 EOHSS in conjunction with Facility Services will
be conducting the annual fire drill in your building as required under the Ontario Fire Code. Please
note that all occupants are expected to treat any alarm (bell testing excluded) as a real emergency
and evacuate the building.
Drills provide an excellent opportunity to see if your internal emergency systems are
working. Please note that your response will be monitored as part of the audit process. Following
the drill, ensure internal processes are reviewed and amended to improve your response time. Any
concerns regarding the drill, or fire alarm systems can be forwarded to EOHSS (ext 20335 or
deman@mcmaster.ca )
As a reminder, the main campus emergency procedure is as follows:
When the Alarm Sounds:
Shut off gas and power.
Evacuate and close doors behind you. Use stairs or ramps. Do not use elevators.
Follow direction of the fire wardens identified by the orange and yellow vests.
Move away from exits.
Wait for all clear to be given before re-entry.
Regards,
EOHSS
