General

Conduct cleaning and disposal operations to comply with local ordinances and anti-pollution
laws.

Store volatile waste in covered metal containers and remove from premises at end of each
working day.

Prevent accumulation of waste which create hazardous conditions.

Provide adequate ventilation during use of volatile or noxious substances. Use of building
ventilation systems is not permitted for this purpose.

CLEANING DURING CONSTRUCTION
.1
Provide on-site containers for collection of waste materials, and debris.

Dispose of waste materials and debris off site.
.3
Schedule cleaning operations so that resulting dust, debris and other contaminants will not fall
on wet, newly painted surfaces nor contaminate building systems.

PROJECT CLEANLINESS

Maintain the Work in tidy condition, free from accumulation of waste products and debris,
other than that caused by the Owner or other Contractors.

Remove waste material and debris from the site and deposit in waste container at the end of
each working day.
.3
Clean interior areas prior to start of finish work, maintain areas free of dust and other
contaminants during finishing operations.

FINAL CLEANING

When the Work is Substantially Performed, remove surplus products, tools, construction
machinery and equipment not required for the performance of the remaining Work.

Remove waste products and debris other than that caused by the Owner, other contractors or
their employees, and leave the Work clean and suitable for the occupancy by Owner.

When the Work is Totally Performed, remove surplus products, tools, construction machinery
and equipment. Remove waste products and debris other than that caused by the Owner or
other Contractors.

Make arrangements with and obtain permits from authorities having jurisdiction for disposal of
waste and debris.
.5
Leave the work broom clean before the inspection process commences.
.6
Clean and polish glass, mirrors, hardware, wall tile, stainless steel, chrome, porcelain enamel,
baked enamel, plastic laminate, mechanical and electrical fixtures. Replace broken, scratched
or disfigured glass.
.7
Remove stains, spots, marks and dirt from decorative work, electrical and mechanical fixtures,
furniture fitments, walls, and floors.
.8
Vacuum clean and dust building interiors, behind grilles, louvres and screens.
.9
Wax, seal, shampoo or prepare floor finishes, as recommended by the manufacturer.
.10
Inspect finishes, fitments and equipment and ensure specified workmanship and operation.
.11
Broom clean and wash exterior walks, steps and surfaces.
.12
Remove dirt and other disfiguration from exterior surfaces.
.13
Clean and sweep roofs, gutters, areaways, sunken wells.
.14
Sweep and wash clean areas finished with unit pavers.
.15
Clean equipment and fixtures to a sanitary condition, clean or replace filters of mechanical
equipment.

Clean roofs, downspouts, and drainage systems.
