Happy Church UPDATE
Hope this finds you all well and blessed. We are most of the way through our summer season. For the
month of July, we have had the following events and or groups:








On July 7th – Victory Christian Fellowship came and put on a Kid’s Festival at the Happy Church.
They had a giant water slide and bouncy houses. They fed the kids, and even made snow
cones. They only down side was the extremely hot weather.
Our 6-8th graders went off to Camp Nathanael on Jul 8th.
July 13-17 – Operation Barnabas Team came here to minister at the Happy Church
July 15-20 –Sent 5 kids to Camp Nathanael 4-5th Grade Camp
July 17-22 – Momentum National Youth Conference. Three of our senior quizzers were on the
district team which won the national championship. Individually, Vanessa finished 3rd, Ronica 4th,
and Britney 6th in the country. This was the result of many hours of hard work by the kids as
well as the coaches. Also the kids won gold medals with their dramas and other performances.
July 21 - I Am Alive – This was huge concert and festival in Jackson. Since momentum, the
FGBC national youth conference was in nearby Richmond, they used this as an outreach event.
650 backpacks filled with school supplies were given away as well as a brand new IPAD. This
was a multiple church event and another ministry gave away 1000 pairs of shoes. Large blow up
water rides were also at the park and kids were having fun as the heat index topped 100
degrees. Park officials estimated over 2000 were in attendance. Christian bands were playing all
day and a group of Christian skate boarders came down to witness at the skate board ramps.
Hope Church helped to fund the event.
July 22-26 Valley Grace work team came and did multiple projects around the church as well as
in a nearby trailer court. One young woman was told she could get a trailer at a reduced rate it
someone would fix it up.
July 28th Happy Soles – Hope Church came down to help with the new shoe giveaway for all the
Happy Kids. School starts the first week of Aug.
August Schedule – Finally a break .

Aug 25th Mr. Godwrench and others will come down to do free oil changes and car washes in the
community. People are witnessed to and ministered to while they wait.
Please pray for us as we continue to reach out and minister in our community. We could not have done
this without the help and prayers of our ministry partners. We can’t thank you enough for all your
support and prayers. Without them, this ministry could not continue.

Prayer/praise
Praise for all the ministry and projects accomplished by this year’s summer teams. Pray that they
will be richly blessed for their hard work and sacrifices. .
Pray for more children to attend our Thursday Kid’s Time so that they may hear the Gospel.
Pray the Lord would provide for a youth minister at the Happy Church.
Pray the Lord would provide for an increasing number of mature and dependable workers for the
Happy Church.
Continue to pray for a mom who prayed to receive Christ, but needs to be delivered from drug
addiction and another mom who needs to be delivered from alcohol.
Praise for the finances that came in send kids to the National Youth conference and camp this
summer. Many children were blessed and grew spiritually because of all the generous donations.
Praise for the success of our senior Bible quizzing team as they won the National championship
(as part of the Tri-state district)!
Pray for a large number of children to sign up for Junior Bible quizzing this year and for lots of
volunteers to help.
Pray for continued supply of clothing and items for the Hidden Treasures Thrift Store.
Pray for wisdom in trying to build a bigger Thrift Store. We are brainstorming about a multipurpose building that can also be used as a gym.
Pray for Jerry Reiner of Project 5 2. http://www.pro52.com/. He needs a refrigerated truck for
his ministry and needs financial support to cover medical bills.
Pray for Missy. Her son Justin, just got married and moved to a home with his new wife. He
used to pay a significant portion of the household expenses. Pray that Lord would provide to
meet her family’s needs
