Dear Parents/Guardians
Please take note of the following important matters:
FINANCES AND RE-REGISTRATION
Once again we would like to remind parents of the re-registration fee of R2500.00 for grade 1 – 7
and R2080.00 for grade RR – R, which was payable by the end of October. We appeal to parents
to please settle this amount a.s.a.p. if they have not done so yet, as the waiting lists for
placement have now been opened.
Unfortunately, names of learners whose re-registration fees have not been paid can
not be put on a class list, which means that they are in danger of forfeiting their
placement in the school next year.
Thank you to all parents who have already paid.
GRADE R OPEN DAY
Open day for all new Gr RR and Gr R parents will be held tomorrow morning at 8:30 for 9 o’clock
in the school hall. Parents are requested to please be on time.
CAROLS BY CANDLELIGHT
This function will be held on Thursday 19 November at 18:30 for 19:00. This is always a very
special function and all parents are invited to attend. Bring along a camping chair and come and
enjoy the evening with us. You are welcome to come earlier with a picnic basket and have a
family picnic on the lovely green playfield.
A R5 donation will get you a battery operated candle and a booklet with carols upon arrival. The
idea is that we really make it a “carols by candlelight” function, where all of us will be singing
carols, instead of having a Christmas play.
In keeping with tradition, we ask everyone to dress according to a Christmas theme, just to add to
the fun!
The Tuck shop will be open and will be selling donuts, and boerewors rolls. Please complete the
attached reply slip if you would like to order food.
A very serious and urgent request is made to all parents NOT to bring alcoholic beverages to our
Carols by Candlelight function. In the first instance, alcohol is not allowed on the premises,
secondly it is very inappropriate at a function such as this, and thirdly it sets an extremely bad
example to the children.
EXAMINATION
The final exams are under way and we wish all our students the best of luck. Parents PLEASE see
to it that your child studies and is well prepared for the examination.
NB! Next week all learners will start writing at 7:45 in the morning as they will be
practicing for Carols by Candlelight during the second session. It is imperative that all
learners be on time otherwise they will not have enough time to complete their exam
papers. No extra time will be given to late comers!
TEXT BOOKS, SCHOOL BAGS ETC
New and second hand text books are available from the school for purchase from gr 4 upwards.
These books can be bought from Mrs Rodrigues on 26 November between 7:30 and 12:30 as well
as on 8 January 2015.
School bags, sports bags, swimming bags, school jerseys, school caps, beanies scarves, all in
school colours are also available for purchase at school.

Current Grade 3 parents: Please note that you need to purchase text books for your
children who will be going to grade 4 next year. All these text books are available at
school and can be purchased as soon as your child has received a report indicating
that he/she has passed grade 3.
SCHOOL COMMUNICATOR
Just a friendly reminder to please install the D6 School Communicator on your smart phones and
PC’s. As from 2016 we would like to do away with the weekly newsletter and rather communicate
with parents though the School Communicator.
GENERAL
 School closes on the 20th of November at 11:00.
 Students may collect their reports on 26 November between 07:30 and 10:00.
 There are a lot of good quality second hand school uniforms available at the school.
 NB! As from Friday 20 November, the office will close at 12 noon. On 27
November the office will be closed for the day. On 1 December the office will
close for the year at 12:00.
