Use a new form each week. Checks for lift tickets are payable to: Capitol Hill PTO. Turn in to the school by the end of the day on
Wednesday (for Friday ski) or end of day on Thursday (for Monday/Sunday/Tuesday ski) to guarantee a spot. There may be last
minute spots, but you must check in with coordinators. DO NOT ASSUME THERE IS SPACE.

First Time/Beginners must take a lesson. Lessons are $5. Sign up and payment happen once you arrive at Afton.
RENTALS: $19 each, Family day rental 12/27, 2/17, 2/23: $26 ea —PAID DIRECTLY TO AFTON.
SNOWBOARDERS: Afton requires a picture ID to rent a snowboard.

I authorize my child
to participate on
in the Capitol Hill Ski and
Snowboard Club. Unless other arrangements are agreed to in advance, I understand that my child will be transported by bus
from Capitol Hill School to Afton Alps at approximately 3:15 pm for school day trips and 8:45 am for family day trips. I understand
that the bus will return to Capitol Hill at approximately 9:30 pm on school day trips and 5:30pm on family day trips. I will make
arrangements for my student's transportation home from the Capitol Hill. For the safety of my child, and out of respect for the
coordinators, I will pick up my child on time.
I understand that a ski outing is automatically cancelled when the school is closed or dismissed early for weather or other
reasons. In that event, students must make their own arrangements for transportation home. Refunds will be given.
I understand that Skiing and Snowboarding activities can result in injuries. I also understand that Capitol Hill School, the Capitol
Hill School Ski Club and the Capitol Hill Ski Club volunteers cannot be held responsible for such injuries. Students ski and
snowboard at their own risk. I understand that club coordinators and chaperones are volunteers who provide organization and
supervision and my student is responsible for his/her own behavior. THIS MUST BE SIGNED FOR MY CHILD TO PARTICIPATE.

Ski and Snowboard Club Policies:
TRANSPORTATION
1.
Students taking the bus must ride the bus both directions unless other arrangements have been agreed to with the coordinator in writing.
2.
Students in 6th grade and older may ride the bus on their own.
3. Any student can meet the group at Afton Alps and still participate in the discounted rates.
TIMES
1.
On school days (generally Fridays) the bus leaves after school by 3:15pm and returns to school at 9:30 pm.
2.
On family days the bus leaves from school by 8:45am and returns to school at 5:30pm. Please get to school by 8:30 am so we can leave on-time.
CANCELLATIONS
1.
Trips may be cancelled if the temp. is below 0F, or the wind-chill is below 0F. The coordinator will post a cancellation on the Capital Hill Facebook Page, will
inform the office by 10am the morning of the trip, and make every effort to contact parents by phone or email.
2.
If school has been cancelled or closed early on a ski club day, then ski club is also cancelled. Refunds will be given if this happens.
3. If you have registered and need to cancel your participation you may receive a refund if you cancel more than 24 hours before departure. Any forfeited fees
will be used to provide lift ticket and rental scholarships for students.
RENTALS/FOOD
1.
Ski and snowboard rentals are $18 on school days and $25 on family days.
2.
Snowboarders will need a picture ID in order to rent snowboard equipment
3. To pay for rental equipment, either bring cash or make check payable to Afton Alps.
4. Students can bring food or bring money to purchase food at the chalet.
STUDENTS IN GRADES 1-5/Siblings/other schools
1.
Younger students can come on the bus with an adult. An adult must accompany younger students (or a small group of younger kids) at all times.
2.
Siblings/friends from other schools can participate in ski club provided they are in a Saint Paul Public School and have a signed waiver.
MEDICATIONS
Parent/guardian should notify the coordinator and ensure that the student has any necessary medications (e.g., asthma inhaler) with them on ski club days.
