Idaho 4-H Scholarships
Here is a list of the Idaho 4-H Scholarships. Be sure to print off the application. Most of these
scholarships use one application! Deadline is February 1, 2014!

Idaho Angus Auxiliary Scholarship
Due February 1, 2014. Up to $500.00 scholarship. Eligibility: 1.Must be a graduating High School
senior during the year of application. 2. Must be a member of the Idaho Jr. Angus Association.

Idaho Farm Bureau Scholarship

Idaho Horse Council Educational Scholarship
Due February 10, 2014. The Idaho Horse Council, a non-profit association, is composed of people across
the state, which is involved, in the equine industry. In 1999, the council's Board of Directors voted to
fund three scholarships in the amount of $1000.00 each. Up to three scholarships are being offered for
the 2014 school year. Applications available in the Extension Office or at www.idahohorsecouncil.com.
FFA Scholarships
Each year the National FFA Organization awards approximately $2 million in scholarships
designed to fit the diversity of our applicants. Scholarships are sponsored by businesses and
individuals through the National FFA Foundation and are given for a wide variety of
experiences, career goals and higher education plans. The selection process takes into account
the whole student - FFA involvement, work experience, Supervised Agricultural Experience
(SAE), community service, leadership skills and academics. Don’t Wait! The 2014 Scholarship
application is available online. Due date for online applications is February 1, 2014. (Required
Signature Page must be mailed postmarked no later than February 8, 2014.)
More than 1,000 scholarships available – only one application to complete!
Not an FFA Member? Don’t Worry!
Cargill, Dean Foods, Foundation for Environmental Agriculture, Iowa Interstate Railroad Ltd.,
National Mastitis Council and Rose Acre Farms scholarships are available to non-members.
Check their guidebook descriptions to see if you qualify. (FFA uses one online application for
members and non-members. Applicants will be directed to the appropriate questions based on
membership response.)

Governor’s Cup

 Have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above

GEAR UP Idaho
 Be less than 22 years old at time they first receive their scholarship award.
 Be a graduating senior of an Idaho high school participating in GEAR UP
 Enroll as a full-time undergraduate student at North Idaho College, Lewis-Clark State
College, College of Southern Idaho, Eastern Idaho Technical College, University of Idaho,
Boise State University, Idaho State University, Brigham Young University-Idaho,
Northwest Nazarene University, The College of Idaho, or College of Western Idaho
 Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) prior to February 15 of
graduating year at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov
 Apply for the GEAR UP scholarship in the same year as their graduation from high
school.

Idaho Opportunity Scholarship
The demand for a well educated workforce was just one of the driving forces behind the
creation of Governor C.L. "Butch" Otter’s "Opportunity Scholarship." The award is a one-year,
non-renewable award for $3,000.
To qualify for the scholarship, a student must meet all of the following criteria:
 Be an Idaho resident
 Be a graduate from an Idaho high school or its equivalent (GED from Idaho)
 Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) prior to March 1 at
http://www.fafsa.ed.gov
 Accept all federal grant aid that is made available
 Enroll as a full-time undergraduate student at North Idaho College, Lewis-Clark State
College, College of Southern Idaho, Eastern Idaho Technical College, University of Idaho,
Boise State University, Idaho State University, Brigham Young University-Idaho,
Northwest Nazarene University, The College of Idaho, or College of Western Idaho
 Maintain satisfactory academic progress for financial aid purposes. See program rules

Robert R. Lee Promis Category A Scholarship
The Robert R. Lee Promise Category A Scholarship provides approximately 25 new scholarships
each year to academic and professional-technical students. The award is a one-year, nonrenewable award for $3,000.
To qualify for the scholarship, a student must meet all of the following criteria:
 Be an Idaho resident
 Be a graduating senior of an Idaho high school or its equivalent
 Enroll as a full-time student in an academic* or professional-technical program* at
North Idaho College, Lewis-Clark State College, College of Southern Idaho, Eastern Idaho

Far West Agribusiness Association Scholarship
The Far West Agribusiness Association scholarship program has been designed to provide
outstanding high school and collegiate undergraduate students with a chance to pursue their
educational goals in college. There are two separate selection pools, one for graduating high
school seniors and one for current college students. Scholarships are one year in length and will
be awarded in $250 increments, not to exceed $1,000 per student.

Buick Achievers Scholarship
Extraordinary people all have a back story: The steps they have taken, choosing to give back to
their community. The Buick Achievers Scholarship Program recognizes and supports their
journey. We want to help those who put forth the effort and find success both in and out of the
classroom, yet are unable to attend college without financial assistance.
We encourage the following to apply:
• High school seniors and current undergraduates
• Those who plan to enroll full time at a four-year college or university in 2012-2013
• Those who plan to major in a field of study that focuses on engineering, technology, design or

IFEC Scholarships For Foodservice Communication Careers
A combination of your work experience and current and past education should indicate that
you are preparing for a career in writing or public relations within the foodservice industry.
This is a key requirement. An official transcript of your current or last year of study must be
included with your application or sent directly from the institution. Two letters of
recommendation from a supervisor, teacher, advisor or other foodservice or communications
professional familiar with your skills must be included with your application. Essay questions
may be answered on a separate page attached to your application. Include the essay questions
on the page. Applications must be mailed and postmarked by March 15, 2014. For more

Idaho Irrigation Equipment Association
Awarded to students interested in the irrigation industry – majors MAY include irrigation
Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Horticulture, Crop and Soil Sciences, Agribusiness, Turf
Landscape/Irrigation Architecture and Design, Agriculture/Horticulture Education. The average
scholarship is $500. In 2013, $18,000 was awarded to 29 students. Applications available at
