Welcome to the new academic year. We have produced this short summary to provide you with information about our up and coming events. At Millfield LEAD Academy we work together to provide a stimulating environment where children are nurtured, motivated to learn, are valued as individuals and encouraged to reach their full potential. ATTENDANCE Parents/Carers should ensure that their children arrive to school on time, properly dressed and in a condition to learn. The school day is organised to help the children optimise the learning opportunities. Start School Finish School Foundation Stage 8.50am 3.15pm Key Stage 1 8.50am 3.15pm Key Stage 2 8.55am 3.15pm We expect all children to arrive to school and be collected on time. If your child is absent it is your responsibility to inform the school by a letter or telephone message via the school office, failure to do so will result in your child having an unauthorised absence. Extended holidays during term time will disrupt a child’s education and progress. The school cannot authorise any requests. However, we can consider exceptional leave of absence requests. These should be requested via the form which is available at the office. The academy does not have to authorise any requests so please check first. STANDARD OF ACHIEVEMENT -All children are expected to work hard and present their work clearly and to the best of their ability. –Pupils are asked to take care of school equipment and resources and replace any lost or damaged items. –Pupils are expected to complete all homework activities. Parents are invited into school to meet class teachers and to receive information about progress of their children and view work in the academic year, both verbally and in full written reports. BEHAVIOUR -Pupils are expected to behave considerately to fellow pupils, school staff, parents and visitors while on school premises and when out with their class. –Pupils are expected to report any incidents of aggressive behaviour, any racist remarks or foul language to their teachers and / or playground supervisors. –Pupils are rewarded for good conduct, attainment and achievement verbally, in written comment and through celebration of work and celebration assemblies. Please support them by coming to their events or by coming along to the meetings or offering to help at events. They are raising funds for a stage for the large hall. This will benefit every child at the school.
