admission at the Art Museum of South Texas,
courtesy of Schlotzsky’s. The Art Museum
remains open through 9 p.m. on Friday evening
to participants in the Corpus Christi Downtown
Management District’s ArtWalk.

FREE FILM SCREENING
7 p.m.
Filmmakers Edward Tyndall (TAMU-CC
Assistant Professor) and Patrick Weaver,
Producer, will screen their award-winning film
“Reconvergence” in the Auditorium. A Q/A
session with the filmmakers occurs after the free
viewing.

Mythology, Medusa and More!
Young artists ages 2-5 (with an adult helper)
will take a cue from the current Mediterranea
exhibition to study the country of Greece with
stories, activities and mythology.

YOUNG ARTIST WORKSHOP
Layered Landscapes
After viewing the work in the Mediterranea
exhibition, students will use pencil and paint to
learn how foreground, middle ground and
background can create the illusion of space.

CURATOR’S TALK / WINE TASTING
Uncork An Adventure
After sampling Italian wines and special
refreshments, participants will join Mark White
for a Curator’s Talk on Mediterranea. Dr. White
is the author of a catalogue on the exhibition,
produced by the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art,
which is on sale in the Art Museum Gift Shop.

Animal Art
Young artists ages 2-5 (with an adult helper)
will gain inspiration from the many creatures
depicted in the Art Museum’s Permanent
Collection and create their own animal art using
paint, paper, feathers and more.

CANVAS, COCKTAILS & CONVERSATION
John artist Diana Carter and learn to create a
landscape using acrylic paint. A glass of wine
and appetizer plate are included with the class
fee. RSVPs are required.

Mythological Creatures
Young artists will create their own versions of
famous mythological creatures with paint,
feathers and other found objects.

TWO-PART ADULT WORKSHOP
Layered Landscapes – painting workshop
The workshop is designed for the beginning
painter who is interested in developing skills
through landscape studies. Adults will be
introduced to basics including brushwork,
composition, perspective and more. Prior
experience not required. Class size is limited;
RSVPs required. Cost includes both sessions.

GALLERY WALKS
A tour of current Museum exhibits is led by
student docents, every hour on the hour, on the
second Saturday of each month. Free with paid
Museum admission or membership.
