ECOAURA HYDRABOOST SYSTEM. Introduction For over a century engineers have been introducing water mist into internal combustion engines to improve fuel efficiency whilst reducing emissions. During the First World War water injection was extensively used by both allied and axis aircraft to boost power and performance for short periods during dog fights. During the Second World War water injection was employed by Rolls Royce and further developed by the Packard Motor Car Company in America. In the UK the system was deployed in the Merlin XII in 1939 in preparation for the Battle of Britain and subsequently by Packard in the US transforming the performance of the P51B/C Mustang fitted with the Merlin V1650 engine. Principle The principle behind the EcoAura Hydraboost is twofold, first, by ionising water the constituent parts are released thus aiding combustion. Second, the ionised water aids cooling of the fuel air mix and therefore reduces combustion chamber internal temperature and pressure. This induces more air into the cylinders producing a denser, cooler fuel air mix, thus creating a more complete combustion. The exhaust gas temperature is also reduced and the energy which was exhausted as heat is converted to increased power and less emissions. The output of an engine depends solely on the mass of air it can be made to consume efficiently. More air and oxygen means a cleaner, more complete burn of fuel resulting in a significant reduction in emissions. The EcoAura Hydraboost is a simple, maintenance free system designed to release the constituent parts of water and then inject them efficiently into the combustion system of the engine cooling the combustion chamber whilst enhancing combustion. Installation of the EO Hydraboost is relatively simple, usually taking less than an hour by an experienced engineer. How does Hydraboost work? Within the water container there is a bubbler system which introduces air into the water producing a “fog”. Utilising the vacuum within the induction system, the “fog” is drawn from the container, through a pipe into an ioniser mounted on the exhaust manifold. In the ioniser the “fog” is heated utilising the heat from the exhaust manifold, to produce ionised gas. The ionised gas is then mixed with the air being drawn into the engine and fed into the combustion chamber where the ionised gas and air mixture combine with fuel, cool the combustion chamber and ignite. The resultant fuel burn is more complete and efficient due to the decreased temperature and increased volume of air and oxygen. Immediate Results. For a given quantity of fuel consumed more energy is produced thus, reducing the fuel consumption for the same performance. If however the enhanced performance is utilised the reduction in fuel burn will be reduced. For a given quantity of fuel more air is sucked into the combustion chamber due to the cooling effect of the ionised water mix with the fuel and air. If the vehicle is driven in the same manner after fitting the EO Hydraboost as it was prior to fitting, the fuel economy will be significantly improved. For a given power output fuel burn is reduced, consequently reducing CO2. Particulate emissions are significantly reduced, by up to 40% Emissions of gases such as carbon monoxide are reduced by up to 17%. Emissions of NOX (nitrogen dioxide and nitric oxide) are reduced by up to 33%. Quieter and smoother engine operation. Cleaner engine internally. Fuel is burnt more efficiently and cleanly, this significantly reduces carbon build up within the engine resulting in a further performance boost, cleaner oil and filters which results in reduced wear and improved longevity of the engine. Summary The EO Hydroboost will enhance the performance of a vehicle in terms of fuel economy and reduced emissions. Additionally, the service life of the engine will be enhanced because less carbon is deposited within the engine and transmitted into the oil. Another benefit derived from the use of EO Hydroboost fitted to a pre used vehicle is that the engine will become cleaner internally, reducing carbon deposits already formed within the cylinder head and the lubrication system. Important Water used in the EO Hydroboost must be pure rain water or demineralised water. Using any other type of water will result in damage being caused to the Ecomiser resulting in an immediate reduction of performance or total failure. Testing We have tested the Hydroboost in many vehicles, most recently with Streamline taxis, in all tests substantial reductions in emissions were recorded. To substantiate these results using independent testing across a broad range of taxi vehicles including Euro 5 standard we propose an independent test of a sample of 60 random picked vehicles to clearly establish the major reduction in emissions achieved by the fitting of the EO Hydraboost system.
