Job Description
Our Southeast region has an exciting opportunity available in Medical Affairs for a Therapeutic
Specialist, Infectious Disease.
This role will be based in Florida and the main role of the Therapeutic Specialist, Infectious
disease (MSL) is to provide clinical / scientific data to researchers upon request and to provide
appropriate support for external customers and internal Forest personnel as well. The main role

This position is responsible for independent management of business-related activities within the
south east region and Puerto Rico.
Responsibilities:
1. Academic Relationships:


Establish and develop collaborative relationships with academic physicians / researchers
(APRs) specializing in specific therapeutic disciplines.
Identify and support appropriate educational and research projects. Increase awareness of
Forest products and clinical data as it relates to disease state treatment.
2. Investigator Initiated Studies:

Upon request, assist APRs with submission of investigator initiated trials (IITs) and
compile all necessary documents needed for Research Steering Committee approval.
Process includes assisting with protocol development, monitoring patient enrollment /
milestone payments, and presentation/publication opportunities at completion of the
study.
3. Clinical Presentations:



Present balanced scientific data to external customers upon request and be knowledgeable
of promotional boundaries.
Demonstrate value of Forest products to healthcare providers through clinical and
pharmacoeconomic data.
Present posters and assist with Medical Information Kiosk staffing at medical meetings
when needed.
4. Competitive Intelligence:


Attend national and international medical meetings to gain knowledge of current cutting
edge medical research.
Effectively identify, gather, and forward relevant new knowledge about the external
scientific environment that can be integrated into future strategic planning for Medical
Affairs.
Desired Skills & Experience
Education:
PharmD, PhD, MD or equivalent experience. Scientific / medical / clinical education required
Experience:
Previous therapeutic specialist experience preferred, not required. 1 to 3 years clinical infectious
disease experience is required
Licensure/Credentials:
PharmD., Ph.D., or M.D. required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:










Knowledge of disease state management, pharmacology/pathophysiology, drug therapies
is required
Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft
Outlook, Adobe Acrobat
Must possess excellent skill/ability in the following:
