undergraduate level. Class assignments are designed to mirror the types of assignments they will do at the university.

Students in this program can meet PSU’s language proficiency requirement by completing all Level 5 classes with a 2.7 GPA or
higher.

Classes in Levels 4 and 5 can be applied towards an undergraduate degree.
WHAT:
Option Two:
WHO:
Academic Preparation for Graduate Students

level. Class assignments are designed to mirror the types of graduate level assignments they will do at the university.

Students in this program also have the opportunity to take a course that will help them prepare for their language proficiency
test requirement (IELTS, iBT, institutional TOEFL)
Levels 2-5
Option Three:
WHO:
Communication and Culture
Students who want to improve their English language skills for personal and professional reasons. These students want to
experience studying in the USA but do not plan to pursue a degree at an American university.
WHAT:

Courses in this program focus primarily on oral communication skills

These classes involve field trips and practical opportunities to explore and experience the beautiful city of Portland

Students will focus on improving their ability to communicate in English, rather than learning academic skills and preparing for
university classes

The Communication and Culture program cannot be used to meet PSU’s language proficiency requirement.



level).
